Moved to a New Home ♡
Congratulations to the couple who moved into a new house to mark their wedding! ♡
Living in a new house is exciting* Once the move is decided, it's so much fun to think about what kind of interior to have and which appliances to buy♩
So when you move into your new home, it’s tempting to immediately arrange furniture and unpack…
However, there are things you need to do before arranging the furniture when you move in.
【Important】 Let's Check the Current Condition of the New Home!
Once you move in, the first thing to do is to "check the current condition" of the house.
Following the "Current Condition Checklist" provided by the management company or real estate agency during the move, you should confirm, fill it out, and report it.
There are two important reasons for checking the current condition of your newly moved-in home.
① First, it is essential to check if there are no broken facilities when moving in. (If there are any broken items, contact them immediately!)
② Secondly, it is to report any existing scratches or defects when moving in (to prove that the scratches were not caused by you).
Both reasons are important,
but especially the latter can significantly affect the refund and settlement of your security deposit, so be careful!
Imagine forgetting to report pre-existing scratches, and at the time of moving out, being told, "This is a scratch made by you. We're going to replace all the flooring. It will cost you a certain amount." How terrifying that would be…..!
Therefore, make sure to conduct a "current condition check" as soon as you move in.
《Checklist for When Moving In》
☑ Are there any dirt or scratches on the floor?
☑ Are there any dirt or scratches on the walls?
☑ Is there any problem with the door fitting?
☑ Is there any problem with the window or screen fitting?
☑ Are there any issues around the kitchen? (gas stove, sink, fish-grilling stove, exhaust fan, built-in microwave or dishwasher, water leaks, gas leaks, etc.)
☑ Are there any issues around the toilet? (washlet, water leakage, exhaust fan, etc.)
☑ Are there any issues around the bathroom? (reheating, exhaust fan, bathroom heating, etc.)
☑ Are there any other plumbing issues? (water leaks, temperature adjustments, etc.)
☑ Is there any problem with the air conditioner? (temperature adjustments, presence of a remote control)
☑ Is there any problem with the electricity? (does it turn on, any issues with the amperage)
☑ Are there any dirt or scratches on the built-in shoe rack or pantry?
Having a clear understanding of the current condition and taking photos will give you peace of mind ♡
Don't Forget to Check After Moving In ◎
When you move and enter a new home, I've shared the items to check regarding the "condition of the house"*
After starting to live there, it can be bothersome to think, "Huh...? Something seems off here." but if you can't receive support because you didn’t report it initially, you might end up bearing the cost yourself.
It would be too shocking to be charged for repairs upon moving out for scratches that were already there.
Make sure to check properly after moving in so that you can enjoy a fun newlywed life ♡
