Is It Really Okay? One Regret I Have After Buying a Full Eternity Ring

Symbol of Endless Love*
The "Full Eternity" ring, with diamonds set around it, is sparkling and truly beautiful♡
However, when you say "I'm going to buy a Full Eternity," don't you receive a ton of opinions from all directions?
For example,
"Isn't it too flashy?"
"The diamonds will catch on things."
"Can you do the dishes with it on?"
"What do you do during a funeral?"
"What if your size changes?"
And so on...
Personally, I originally thought, "I absolutely want a Full Eternity wedding ring!"
I was aware of the various opinions,
but I chose the Full Eternity without hesitation.
However, after getting married and experiencing childbirth and parenting, there is one thing I regret about my wedding ring....!!
That's the size choice!
The concern that the diamonds would catch on things was not an issue at all.
But as for the size,
I think, "Maybe I should have chosen a size with a little extra room instead of a perfect fit when I bought it..."
Because during pregnancy and parenting, my body (hands) swelled a lot, and right now, my wedding ring feels extremely tight....
Why does swelling occur?
First of all, it's a well-known fact that the body swells during pregnancy. Many people say things like, "My feet looked like an elephant's...."
The reason is mainly that the body's water content increases. In order to produce more blood for the baby, the mother’s body starts to retain water.
Also, in the later stages of pregnancy, the growing fetus compresses the organs, resulting in poor blood circulation and swelling in the hands and feet...
And then there's parenting.
You might think, "Isn't my body supposed to be feeling great after giving birth??" but surprisingly during pregnancy,
carrying a heavy baby all the time puts a strain on the arms,
which can lead to conditions like tendinitis, back strain, or carpal tunnel syndrome,
affecting the "thickness of your fingers"...
In my case,
☑ I didn’t swell during pregnancy
☑ From labor to two days post-delivery, I swelled significantly and couldn't take off my ring
☑ Currently, while parenting, sometimes my hands feel numb from holding the baby too much, making the ring feel tight at times
That's the situation.
I should have bought a slightly larger size...
Although the swelling isn’t extreme where the ring absolutely cannot come off,
there are times when, despite making an effort, I struggle to get the ring on, and sometimes it rubs against my skin to the point of pain...
When I first bought it, the shop staff asked me,
"Would you like it to be a snug fit or a looser size? Everyone has their preferences."
I preferred my ring to sit straight without any movement,
so I immediately answered, "Snug fit!"
But I sometimes wish I had chosen a looser size back then...
Full Eternity rings cannot be resized!
Unlike simple rings, Full Eternity rings cannot be resized because they cannot be "joined" together.
(Half Eternity rings can be resized.)
Before pregnancy and childbirth,
even when I heard this, I thought, "Hmm, but it should be fine."
But now, as I experience parenthood and the ring is getting tight,
I often think, "If only I had thought about it a little more back then!" every time I put on the ring in the morning.
After consulting with the shop where I bought the ring, I learned that not many people choose Full Eternity rings for their wedding rings, and many women wait until after childbirth to buy Full Eternity rings as a reward for themselves since finger sizes can change frequently.
In theory, resizing might be possible at local repair shops or studios not associated with the brand I purchased from,
but it seems they would end up looking "joined."
Should I have chosen a looser size?
I don’t know if my fingers will swell more, stop swelling, or get thinner in the future,
but for now, I think,
"Maybe I should have gone for a size with some extra room..."
Since everyone's body is different, there's no definitive answer,
but I recommend keeping in mind that "you cannot perfectly resize a Full Eternity ring" when choosing one*
Full Eternity rings are expensive due to the many diamonds, right...!
