Laundry: Are You Particular or Just Casual?
The frequency may vary by household, but laundry is one of the essential chores that is indispensable in daily life.
How confidently can you say, "Our laundry is perfect"?
I usually separate clothes into different loads and just press start on the washing machine when they pile up!
Once it's done, I find it a hassle and hang the clothes inside my room.
I guess you could say I'm on the casual side with no particular fuss about laundry...
But I do have my concerns, such as:
✓ When I hang clothes inside, they come out half-dry and smell (especially during the humid summer months).
✓ Sometimes, dirt and yellowing just won't come out even after washing.
These two issues have been bothering me lately. (They're common laundry struggles, right?)
Many brides think, "It's my newlywed life, and I want to do my best for him," but
they may be caught up in their busy lives,
turning a blind eye to those laundry-related worries...?
Eye-Opening! Washing with Hot Water is Amazing!
There seems to be an incredibly simple method that solves the two major laundry woes of musty smells and stubborn stains.
It’s simply using **hot water** to do laundry! Just that!
Normally, washing machines use water in typical circumstances.
Since Japan’s water is soft, it works reasonably well even with low temperatures; however, the cleaning power of hot water is apparently on a different level!
Let me explain in detail!
What Benefits Does It Have?
The wonderful effects of washing with hot water are these!
First, the musty smell comes from the bacteria that grow while the clothes are hanging to dry.
However, by washing with hot water, you can get rid of the oils and dirt that are the source of that odor, preventing the smell before it even starts!
The yellowing of clothes is primarily caused by sweat and oils from the body.
Since sweat and oil are made of water and grease, washing them with the same water doesn’t help!
Hot water around 40°C can dissolve these, making it effective!
Of course, food stains are also easier to remove with hot water than with regular water (like washing dishes),
and there’s no need to worry about clothes shrinking!
Here are Four Ways to Wash with Hot Water:
① Fill the bathtub with hot water and use a hose to draw it out.
② Let the hot water run in the washbasin and use a hose to draw it out.
③ If you have a mixed faucet, just let the hot water run.
④ Buy a washing machine that can wash with warm water.
Among these options, ① and ② can be tried by anyone if you have the hose to draw the water!
By the way, if you’re using water from a bath after someone has soaked in it,
it’s fine to use that water for the first "wash," but I recommend using clean water for the "rinse."
The optimal water temperature is around 40°C!
There are also washing machines that can wash with warm water. Choosing one with a warm water feature when replacing your machine is also recommended! ♡
