Thinking About Dress Makers ♡

I'm Haruno Tsuzaki, editor-in-chief of marry ＊

In this article, I would like to share some little bits of wedding industry trivia (perhaps?) that you might not normally know while preparing for your wedding as a bride. ♡

The theme is about dress makers.

To begin with, I think the common image of dresses is that they are

"items selected and procured by dress shops"

or "items made by brands."

However!!

(I didn’t know this at first either) Just like snacks and home appliances, there are "manufacturers" in wedding dresses as well.

Most brands do not independently create dresses on their own,

but rather collaborate with manufacturers behind the scenes, having various discussions and meetings while creating the dresses.

Therefore...

There are many dress brands out there, but it's not uncommon in the wedding industry for three dresses you choose (from completely different brands) to actually be products made by the same company.

In Japan, there are several major dress manufacturers, but in this article, I would like to introduce KURAUDIA, the top manufacturer among them.＊

About the Manufacturer KURAUDIA ＊

KURAUDIA is a dress manufacturer based in Kyoto.

It is also the company that creates the dresses for KIYOKO HATA × marry, and I have a great love for this company that has taken such good care of me. ♡

About 40 years ago, it started as a small company where a husband sold dresses made by his designer wife.... but now it is a leading dress production company in Japan.＊

What moved me during the dress-making process was the stance of the representative:

"At KURAUDIA, our motto is uncompromising product creation!"

This straightforward attitude is always reflected in how they understand my feelings, even when I cannot express them in words, and help me realize my ideals.

Once, I asked the KURAUDIA designer,

"Which dress do you like the most?"

"Which dress is your favorite?"

and the answer was,

"I pour all my energy into every single dress! They are all like my children, so I can’t prioritize them...!!"

It's amazing that they can pour such love into each dress even though they create around 1,000 designs annually!

Therefore, every dress they create is super cute! ♡

Therefore, the variety of dresses available may differ from one dress shop to another.
