Maya Kobayashi Gets Married! ♡
On July 27, 2018, an incredibly happy news came in! ♡
Freelance announcer Maya Kobayashi reported on her blog that she registered her marriage on July 24*
Her partner is, in her words, “a kind man who is 4 years younger than me”!
Congratulations again!! ♡
Maya-chan ♡ So cute ♡ I love her*
Maya Kobayashi was born on July 12, 1979, and just turned 39!
As many of you know, she is the older sister of Maiko Kobayashi, who was the beloved wife of Ichikawa Ebizo.
She became popular after appearing on “Koi no Karasawagi” while studying at Aoyama Gakuin University’s English Department and went on to become a TBS announcer.
The “Maya-chan,” who was cuter than anyone on screen and resembled an idol, appeared on “Koi no Karasawagi” in 2001.
It feels like such a long time ago.
(The following year, her sister Maiko appeared as a true pure character*)
After becoming a TBS announcer, she became a regular on “Ousama no Brunch” and served as the main host for TBS’s traditional program, the Record Awards, for five consecutive years until her resignation in 2008,
and worked as the assistant on “Chubo Desuyo!” leading a busy life as a popular announcer.
Maya-chan was initially not good at cooking and used to explode eggs or drop completed dishes from the plate, but
over the four years she appeared on the show, she dramatically improved her cooking skills. There must have been diligent efforts behind this.
She was also affectionately called “Kobamaya” by the master Masakatsu Sakai ♡
At the time of leaving TBS, she graduated from her role as an assistant on “Chubo Desuyo!”, and when the final episode aired, she wrote this on the official blog*
**Blog Text:**
From my second year of employment until my resignation,
I was able to assist as an announcer,
and I learned a lot.
Master Sakai,
and the loving staff,
thank you so much.
I was happy to be part of the program.
The recipes from “Chubo Desuyo!”
are kept carefully as
cherished wedding gifts.
One day,
I hope to hear my beloved say,
“Three stars!”
I will do my best in various ways.
***
If I were her husband, I would confidently say “Three stars!” for any dish Maya-chan makes, no matter the taste or appearance!
(But it must be beautiful and delicious!)
Close Friends with Ebizo-sama and Kangen-chan ♩
After her sister Maiko got married in 2010 and gave birth to her first daughter, Reika-chan, in 2011, and Kangen-kun in 2013,
her adoration for her niece and nephew was intense, and she frequently shared her "Aunt’s Spoiling" moments on Ameblo*
Reika-chan, in particular, is rumored to look just like Maya-chan ♡ She must be very cute ♩
After Maiko passed away in June 2017,
the closeness between her two children
and her good relationship with Ebizo-san led to rumors like, “Could she marry Ebizo?” and “But that wouldn’t be accepted by the Naritaya patrons!”
However, such gossip is extremely disrespectful to both Ebizo-san and Maya-chan, as well as to Maiko-chan.
It hurt my heart every time I saw it.
Maya-chan is hardworking, sincere, and always considerate of those around her and her fans.
Even while being pushed into a “can’t get married character,”
she remained friendly enough to be called a "bimbo" by everyone, carrying a sense of mission and stress that she managed to turn into a character.
There were many opportunities to see her in blogs and variety shows with this burden, so
I am sure many people wished through the TV screen for "Maya Kobayashi to be happy."
Therefore, the news of Maya Kobayashi's marriage must have brought relief to everyone across Japan! ♡
Marriage is a Gift from Maiko-chan*
Here are Maya-chan’s comments from her official blog announcing her marriage*
**Blog Text:**
I want to lead a life filled with love and light.
I never thought I would get married,
but this miracle,
I feel is the best present from my sister,
who couldn’t bear to see me continue to grieve after she left us.
