No Problem If You Stick It Wrong! Tips on "How to Cleanly Remove Stamps" from a Former Sales Clerk

What to do if you've mistakenly attached a stamp?
Hello, this is Nagisa from Marry*
My previous job was as a sales clerk at a strict manufacturer. So, I repeatedly went through the process of putting documents into envelopes, attaching stamps, and taking them to the post office... just like brides-to-be do when sending out invitations!
I completely understand how difficult it can be to mistakenly attach the wrong stamp when sending invitations, right???
Stamps are treated the same as money.
During work, I made sure to avoid mistakes and would always attach the stamp last after filling out the address and other details. However, I often encountered situations where a salesperson would say,
“Can you send that mail I asked for earlier by express delivery instead?”
“The documents I requested earlier can be handed over in person tomorrow, so there’s no need to mail them!”
and I ended up wasting the stamps I had already attached...
It can be quite a dilemma when this happens, right…?
There may also be times during a wedding when you make a mistake on the invitation or reply postcard and end up not mailing it after applying the stamp.
So today, I'm going to share the “methods I used to remove stamps”*
Method 1: Put it in the refrigerator
The method I used most often was to put it in the refrigerator!
If you have a stamp you accidentally attached (and want to remove), place the entire envelope or postcard in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. This will dry the adhesive, making it easier to peel off◎
Method 2: Use lukewarm water
Another method is to cut off the portion with the stamp and apply lukewarm water directly to peel it off!
Using lukewarm water will dissolve the adhesive, leaving just the stamp behind◎
Right after you remove it, the stamp may be a bit soggy, but as long as you let it dry properly before reattaching, there won't be any issues*
When reattaching, the adhesive will be gone, so make sure to apply some glue again to stick it down♩
Using a glue stick will allow you to attach it neatly*
Method 3: Use a stamp remover
Finally, I’ll introduce the method of using a commercial stamp remover liquid*
I haven’t used one myself, but since they are sold in stores, they should allow you to remove stamps cleanly!
If any brides feel unsure about removing stamps neatly on their own, trying out one of these handy items might be a good idea♩
