Concerns About the Budget for Petit Gifts
This article addresses a question submitted via DM to marry's Instagram ♡
We have shared the details received through DMs with our followers on Instagram Stories, and all responses are published in no particular order and anonymously ♡
This time, the consultation is about the budget for petit gifts.
The person seeking advice seemed to be confused, asking, "How much do people usually spend? Is there a different budget for the reception and the after-party???"
Here are the responses we received *
Response 1
The budget for the petit gifts at the reception was 200-300 yen per person.
Since it was a summer wedding, I chose "Fruura," a type of ramune candy ♡
The after-party was also around 300 yen per person, and I decided on Mickey-shaped soap ♡
Response 2
I chose egg-free tara-bo (a type of Japanese snack) from a specialized shop for the petit gift ♡
I fell in love with the packaging at first sight 😊 It was 180 yen each ♡
Response 3
It was just under 200 yen per person for the petit gift of rice!
We could choose our own comments and photos to create the packaging!
I wanted something different from what others had, but the rice petit gifts were very well received ❤︎
I'm still deciding what to do for the petit gifts at the after-party, but I'm considering Happy Turn!
I was a bit late in deciding, so please be careful about the delivery date 😂!
With Happy Turn, we can choose our photos and create packaging ourselves!
Since the after-party is mainly for friends, I thought a casual approach would be fine!
Response 4
I prepared piary's popcorn for about 160 yen each.
Kagome's Fresh Quease costs about 140 yen each.
😊
Response 5
I didn’t have an after-party, just the reception,
so I went with caramel from the shop "Number Sugar" for the petit gift!
I wrapped the caramels with the same number as the wedding date, so the numbers were visible!
I initially thought the budget would be around 300 yen, but I ended up spending just a little over 200 yen, and I was very satisfied with the cute and affordable choice!
The shop is famous, so our guests were pleased too!
Response 6
For the people who come to the reception, I’m planning to give out hand creams for about 200 yen each,
and I will provide 2-3 types of sweets for those who only attend the ceremony 🙋♀️
For those attending only the ceremony, I plan to hand them directly after the ceremony.
Response 7
I thought no Japanese person would dislike rice, so I chose rice 🌾
The guests also thought it was unique, which was great 💓
Each person received an equivalent of one go (about 300 yen).
Response 8
The budget was under 100 yen per person!
I knew that purchasing individually would exceed the budget, so I bought individually wrapped items in bulk online and decorated each with ribbons and seals!
I also bought the candies in bulk online, so it was very cheap 🙆♀️✨
Since it was a summer wedding, it was fun to choose candies shaped like watermelon and sunflowers 😆🤚
Response 9
The wedding had a budget of 300 yen,
☑ Shikoku Coffee
☑ Lupicia tea
☑ Two Lotus biscuits
were put together as a set.
For pregnant women, I prepared a separate set of corn tea and Lotus biscuits.
For children, I made candy leis with candies and ramune.
For the after-party, I had a budget of about 500 yen,
☑ Two Shikoku coffees (with a message)
☑ One Hint Mint Petite (with three flavors available)
☑ Two Lotus biscuits
were also put together!
Since the ceremony was in mid-July and it was hot, I ensured that the items would not melt and also decided based on their shelf life since I prepared them quite early!
Response 10
I distributed bath bombs shaped like candies!
It was a winter wedding, so I wanted those who came early in the cold to enjoy a nice bath to relieve their fatigue.
The scent was "yuzu," inspired by my daughter's name!
The cost was about 150 yen each!
Response 11
I only had the reception, but I vaguely decided on a budget of under 300 yen.
I was attracted to the packaging and chose Belamer's chocolates.
They look cute as they are, so I didn’t have to add ribbons, making it both affordable and fancy ✨
Response 12
As a bride from Kobe, I went with "Nuts On" from Toyo Nuts ☺️
The packaging is stylish, and if you buy seven, it costs 1000 yen, so you can get it for about 140 yen each ✨
It was nice to have something salty since there are many sweet desserts ✨
Response 13
I chose granola cookies for 140 yen each!
The wrapping included dried fruits like strawberries and oranges, which made it look adorable 😍
It was more expensive through the venue, so I brought it myself!
Response 14
The budget was 150 yen.
My husband works in beverages, so he attached ribbons to 500 ml juice bottles 🎀
When arranged at the reception, they turned into a photo spot for guests 💕
The favors were also compact items like makeup brushes, so it worked out perfectly with the juice ฅʕ•̫͡•ʔฅ
Both men and women said, "This is the most practical!" and I thought it would have been a good choice if it had been a summer wedding as well!
Response 15
The reception was held at a Spanish restaurant.
As it was a wedding with noticeable olive trees, I handed out cute little bottles of olive oil!
Each one cost about 400 yen.
For the after-party, we gave peanuts monaka and peanut cakes, referencing that both of us are from Chiba.
It had faces drawn on them, so it unintentionally looked like a couple. The two cost less than 300 yen.
Everyone seemed delighted, but now I think about it; there may have been people with allergies...
Response 16
The reception used Fukusaya's castella for about 300 yen each × 55 pieces,
For the after-party, I prepared two packs of coffee with photo prints, all for under 20,000 yen!
Each coffee costs 120 yen!
Response 17
The petit gift comprised one piece of Belamer chocolate and one bag of drip coffee, wrapped in a bag with a ribbon.
Including wrapping, it was about 400 yen per person.
I didn’t have an after-party.
Response 18
For the petit gift at the reception, I made spoons using porcelain art! ♡
I later learned that spoons symbolize "scooping up happiness."
It was a moment to greet each guest, so I made them carefully with love゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜
Including ribbons and wrapping, each spoon cost about 500 yen ✨
Since there were overwhelmingly more men at the after-party, I thought popcorn, which would likely be well-received, would be a good choice!
I ordered them from a supplier where I could get the typical petit gift catalogs at a low price ♡
Response 19
Since I didn’t have an after-party, I set the budget at around 200 yen per person for the reception.
I chose yuzu and honey drinks from Nishizawa Honey Farm, and actually, I could manage around 180 yen each!
Not too small, not too big!
I’m a fan of the singer Yuzu, so it was praised as being very me (laughs)!
Response 20
I ordered heart-shaped cookies from the venue for the wedding, costing about 200 yen each.
Each one was packaged in a round tube-like container, so when stacked, it looked like a wedding cake.
It also served as a decorative piece on the reception table!
For the after-party, I had heard opinions that scratch tickets were the most appreciated,
Additionally, because some people didn’t win anything during the after-party games,
I prepared scratch tickets costing about 200 yen each and hot packs for winter to give as gifts on the way home!
Response 21
I looked for icing cookies between 300 and 400 yen each 🙋♀️
Response 22
Reception → Budget around 200-300 yen
(Two cookies with names from each participant state)
After-party → Budget around 200-300 yen
(Three petit macarons)
By selecting from a catalog prepared by the after-party venue, I received a 20% discount for the petit gifts for the reception and the number of guests invited.
I selected both from that catalog, achieving cost reductions 😊
I did receive many catalogs at the reception venue,
but since there were so many, it was nice to narrow down my choices decisively!
Response 23
I used the Fast Photo service from the venue as a petit gift for guests on their departure 📸😊
Fast Photo is a service that develops a group photo taken on the day and mounts it on a board until the end of the ceremony 💌
I think it cost about 500 yen for each photo 💰
I didn’t have an after-party, so I didn’t prepare anything for that 💦
Response 24
For our petit gift, we chose “mini-sized Moroccan Oil Treatment”‼︎
Originally, I had thought of a budget of about 300-500 yen per person, but with the help of some connections from work, we got 100 of them as petits gifts 😆😆
Therefore, the only cost was for wrapping, so it was about 500 yen (laughs).
I didn’t prepare petit gifts for the after-party,
but I transformed the high table and guest table flower arrangements at the reception into mini bouquets to give as presents.
Response 25
Since it was a summer wedding, I went with fireworks from "Tsutsui Toki Masaki Toy Fireworks Factory" as the petit gift 🎇💓
It was a ceremony for about 30 people, only family, so I made sure different types of fireworks were shared among the families,
hoping they would enjoy the fireworks together and remember the ceremony! ❣
The budget was about 500-600 yen per person ☺👛
I didn’t have an after-party, but had I had one, I would have chosen refreshing summer drinks 😊💛
Quite Varied.....!!
We introduced all responses to the question, "What was your budget for petit gifts?"
There was a significant difference in the amount spent on petit gifts, depending on the individual....!
Some spent less than 100 yen, while others spent around 600 yen. (A difference of over six times!)
There were many ideas, including drinks and items for performances, so I hope this helps brides currently searching for petit gifts!*
