"Wedding Congratulations New Year's Cards: When Should You Send Them if You Get Married Early in the Year?"

[Issue] Timing for Sending New Year's Cards to Announce Marriage!!
After getting married, "We got married"
After having a child, "Our family has grown"
Sending happy photo-filled New Year’s cards that double as reports is something to aspire to, isn't it?*
However, it's surprisingly difficult to decide when to send them if you get married or officially register your marriage around January, February, or March.
For example, if you have your wedding ceremony in January 2019 and plan to send out a New Year card in 2020 saying "We got married last year!",
some people might worry, "It feels like it was a year ago... Is it a bit late for a report? Is this okay?"
Have you wondered how others are handling it?
Here are some experiences shared through DMs to Marry's Instagram regarding
"How couples who got married later in the year (after a timely wedding or registration) decided when to send out their marriage announcement New Year cards."
I registered my marriage in March and had the ceremony in June.
I sent out a normal New Year card before the marriage registration, and after the ceremony, I sent a postcard announcing that we got married.
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 2
I had my ceremony on December 16, and we took pre-wedding photos in mid-October.
I used the pre-wedding photos to announce our marriage in the New Year card!
The wording was typical, but I believe it went something like, "We would like to announce that we recently got married."
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 3
I had my registration and ceremony at the end of February✨
I sent out our New Year card after the fact at the year-end!
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 4
I had my ceremony in February 2018 (´ω`)
I plan to send out my marriage announcement New Year card in January 2019 since it is after the ceremony♡
I wanted to use the photographer's data from the day of the ceremony✨✨✨
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 5
I had my ceremony in March!
It might be a bit off from the New Year card...
But I sent a summer greeting card as a thank you to those who attended the wedding and those who sent gifts even though they weren't invited!
I DIY'd the summer greeting card using an app!
Using photos of the people I addressed the cards to made them happy😊✨
The New Year card is still in the works, but I plan to use photos taken in traditional Japanese attire for it and DIY again😊
However, I don’t want to be seen as someone who wants to stay in the bride mood for too long...
I would stick to close friends and relatives and avoid colleagues!
I probably won't include the announcement of "We got married..." in the New Year card🙄
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 6
I had my ceremony in February this year!
This year, I plan to send out a card with the pre-wedding photos in traditional attire, saying something like, "This is the first New Year after starting our new life; thank you for your support!"
I think a report of "We got married!" isn’t necessary, haha.
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 7
Engagement in November 2016
Registration in March 2017
April: Pre-wedding photo shoot
July: Wedding Ceremony
I used the New Year card in January 2018 to announce our wedding, featuring both pre-wedding and wedding ceremony photos!
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 8
I heard from a friend who got registered already and planned to have their wedding in January,
they sent out New Year cards using photos from their pre-wedding shoot before the wedding🌟
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 9
I registered in January and had my ceremony in the fall, so
I sent a New Year card before the registration saying, "I will be registering soon" and that I moved and started a new life.
Then, in the following year's New Year card after the ceremony, I used photos from the ceremony to announce that the wedding went smoothly!
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 10
I registered my marriage at the beginning of March this year!
My wedding ceremony is scheduled for November☺︎
I thought announcing, "We got married!" in the New Year of the following year might be a bit late,
but it also seemed strange to announce it without being married,
so I plan to convey that we got married in the New Year card for 2019!
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 11
I will send it with pre-wedding photos!
Though my ceremony is in March,
I will take pre-wedding photos within the year to create a "We got married" New Year card!
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 12
My wedding ceremony was at the end of the year,
but I had personal photos taken during the pre-wedding shoot and used them for the "We got married" New Year card!
If the timing is at the beginning of the year, it might be fine to send a New Year card saying "We got married" prematurely.
If you expect to marry or get registered between January and March,
maybe it would be fine to alter the New Year card text to say "I plan to register/marry in [month]."
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 13
I plan to have a ceremony in April,
but I will do the pre-wedding shoot before the end of the year and send out the New Year card.
I think it's best to do the announcement at least after getting married or registered.
It serves as a report and expression of gratitude to those around us.
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 14
I will send it out in advance!
About Marriage Announcement New Year Cards 15
I registered my marriage in February this year, and I plan to have my wedding ceremony in May next year!
Though I haven't had the reception yet, I have already registered, so I plan to send out the "We got married" New Year card this year!
Also including the meaning of "Please come to our wedding"😊
The Timing Issue of Registration, Pre-Wedding, Ceremony, and New Year Cards*
Who would have thought that there would come a day when we would worry so much about the timing to announce our marriage through New Year's cards....!
It certainly feels that way.
To smoothly report your marriage in the New Year's greeting, it seems better to complete the registration by at least the end of December.
However, there might be cases where one wishes to attach the registration date to a meaningful event.
Even if there is a gap between registering and the wedding, the recipients probably won’t find it strange.
However, if it is a concern for you, using a cold-weather greeting or a summer greeting to report the news would also be a good option*
(There is a chance that a baby might be born within that year as well....!)
For those who are troubled about when to send out the announcement postcards, I hope this can serve as a reference!♡
