"Ohagi" is Instagrammable in this era!?
Do you usually eat "ohagi"?
Unlike easily available chocolates and cookies from convenience stores, ohagi, a type of Japanese sweet, is something we don't often eat.
Some of you may feel nostalgic remembering your grandmother's homemade ohagi.
Did you know that ohagi is currently trending on Instagram?
Line-up at the ohagi specialty store "Takeno to Ohagi"♡
What is trending on Instagram is the ohagi from the specialty store "Takeno to Ohagi."
☑ Sakurashinmachi, Setagaya, Tokyo (Sakurashinmachi Store)
☑ Nakacho, Meguro, Tokyo (Gakugei Daigaku Store)
They have two locations.
Only seven types of ohagi are sold on a rotating daily basis.
It’s a very simple shop, but it’s a popular spot with lines that never seem to end.
Simply beautiful ohagi.
The charm of "Takeno to Ohagi" lies in their unique ohagi that doesn't conform to the typical Japanese sweets, both in appearance and taste being a bit different.
All the round sweets packed in this wooden box are ohagi.
You’ve probably never seen such colorful and cute ohagi.
It’s as vibrant as a flower box.
In addition to the classic smooth and chunky an (sweet red bean paste),
☑ Nuts
☑ Hemp seeds and soybean flour
☑ Snowy wasanbon (fine sugar)
☑ Amaou (strawberries)
☑ Mocha and figs
These original ohagi can only be found at "Takeno to Ohagi."
The shop's philosophy is encapsulated in their idea, "As the seasons change and we grow older or our environment changes, there will never be a day that is exactly the same. If possible, I want to welcome everyone with a different ohagi every day."
The packaging is very stylish!
When you choose your ohagi at the shop, they’ll pack them in a curved wooden container for free when you order an odd number, like 3, 5, or 7.
The round ohagi packed in the curved container look adorable.
When you open the lid, it brings a smile to your face.
There are also various types of masking tape to secure the wappa (wooden container).
It’s so refreshing to see Japanese sweets that can create excitement through their packaging.
At "Takeno to Ohagi," there's not only the joy of eating but also the joy of choosing.
You can also request custom-made ohagi!
At "Takeno to Ohagi," not only the daily ohagi sold in-store but also custom-made original ohagi can be created.
This particular ohagi was made based on a customer's request for a Sailor Moon illustration! (You can swipe to see the original illustration.)
The soft pink and the sparkling feel of Sailor Moon are beautifully recreated.
The delicacy and color that you wouldn’t expect from ohagi leave you in awe.
This one features an ohagi inspired by a rose.
It looks just like a real preserved flower rose.
The transparent amber sugar colored lightly with cranberry imagines ice reflecting the color of the rose.
The types of ohagi include smooth an, chunky an, as well as white chocolate and cranberry, and cardamom braised with strawberry in red wine.
I wonder what kind of flavors these have!
