In this article, we discovered a wonderful amulet that has not been featured before!!
The 'Couple Walking Guardian' from Kumamoto Prefecture, "Dai-Tsugimiya" is wonderful ♡
What we want to highlight is,
the "Couple Walking Guardian" of Dai-Tsugimiya Shrine located in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture. ♡
The cute little amulet pouch features the character "歩" (walk) ♡
(It's different in appearance from the standard couple amulet that features a bride and groom in traditional attire!)
The Couple Walking Guardian carries the wish that "a couple embarking on a new path may deepen their bond and continue to walk together for many years to come."
This amulet is fitting for the first step in the long journey of the couple's life together. ♡
The Shrine is also wonderful, so let us explain ♡
The grounds of Dai-Tsugimiya Shrine also feature a bridge called the "Amanofuki Bridge"*
It is said to be the place where Izanagi and Izanami first descended to the earth from the heavens in the Kojiki, and where they took the heavenly spear (Nuboko) to create Japan, marking the 'beginning' of it all! ♡
It is a very auspicious place to start a couple's journey*
It is said that crossing the Amanofuki Bridge will grant wishes, but the way to cross varies depending on the type of wish:
<For a matchmaking prayer>
➡ Men move from the "Separation Bridge" and women from the "Meeting Bridge" towards each other, bowing towards the main shrine together at the front before descending towards the Meeting Bridge
<For a good relationship wish>
➡ Cross from the Meeting Bridge while praying for your wishes
<To cut off bad relationships>
➡ Cross from the Separation Bridge while praying for your wishes
Dai-Tsugimiya also has cute Goshuincho ♡
The Dai-Tsugimiya Shrine is popular for its cute Goshuincho (stamp books).
It is famous for still holding events that reproduce the "Kakusui no En" (a garden event where poetry is recited) from the Heian period.
The design of the Goshuincho reflects this event's atmosphere*
(Scene from the Kakusui no En)
There are two colors, White and Purple. It's hard to decide which one to choose…!
The 'Couple Walking Guardian' from "Dai-Tsugimiya" is wonderful ♡
