“How to Handle Big Breasts: Tips for Choosing Bridal Innerwear and Dresses for Busty Brides”
2019.08.15 published
My worries about having a big chest.
This is a question from a prospective bride.
***********
Is there any bride who is worried about having a big chest?
I am a size F cup with an underbust of 75. I want to reduce the volume of my bust when getting the dress fit, but I'm unsure how to do it...
Bridal innerwear is essentially meant to "make the chest look beautiful," so it cannot make it look smaller (in fact, it often stands out), and I am unsure what to choose.
If you wanted to hide your big chest, what kind of dress or innerwear did you choose or what tricks did you use...?
Please share your experiences or opinions.

Response 1
Last year, I had a photo wedding overseas. My bust size is the same as the prospective bride’s.
I went to various stores, including department stores, but I couldn't find the right size, so I used a custom-made pure net.
Bridal innerwear also comes in F size, and there are types that suppress volume with a corset.
Most importantly, it was reassuring to have something made to fit my size rather than buying ready-made items, and the fit felt different compared to what I tried on in department stores.
There are conditions, but if your size changes before the ceremony, adjustments can be made (though I think I have to give up on passing it on after the ceremony...).
Regarding the dress, I think personal preference plays a role, but ultimately, I chose one with a lace-up back. There were some styles, like ones with buttons and zippers, that I couldn't wear due to my chest size...
From my impression, compared to fluffy styles like tulle, simple dresses with drape felt like they made my chest look more streamlined.
I chose a style with embellishments at the waist, which helped divert attention there. I also think using a sash belt would be good. Additionally, making the bouquet larger helped downplay my chest size.
Response 2
Bridal Bloom has a luxurious corset that acts like a wrap to suppress bust volume.
I recommend this for those with larger busts.
Response 3
I was very worried too‼️ I have a large chest, either G under 70 or H 65‼️
So I tried on many dresses and found that shallow-cut dresses did not suit me‼️
It felt inappropriate, as my bust overshadowed the dress (the chest was practically resting on the dress. LOL). I chose something that didn’t show cleavage with a V-line!
I bought one size smaller for my innerwear, but even then, I lost a bit of weight and it ended up being a bit large on the day.
So, they suggested to kind of push my chest back a little which made it less noticeable when I tried it on.
Response 4
I was also very troubled.
I tried wrapping a gauze, but it's a hassle. If you can't wrap it well, it slips.
Just before the ceremony, I found and bought a gauze innerwear that surprisingly worked well. It suppressed the volume and was comfortable to wear for long hours.
I bought it for about ¥3000 on Amazon.
Response 5
I went with a deep cup innerwear.
It was a bit pricey, but it was from Yukari Yoshimi. The rental dresses didn’t fit my chest well, so I gritted my teeth and had it tightened a lot.
The bridal innerwear gave me a waistline I don’t usually have, and I think my bust looked bigger than usual.
Response 6
I had chest complexes too, and the dress shop recommended The D's 3D Excel Corset!
Concerns about side bulges or emphasized cleavage when wearing the dress, which I felt due to my bigger bust, were eliminated thanks to this innerwear!
Moreover, the corset part provides firm support just like other innerwear, helping achieve a beautiful posture! Thanks to this innerwear, I could wear the dress beautifully! It’s truly recommended for glamorous individuals!
Response 7
I am also a bride with a big chest!
Since bridal innerwear always enhances, I considered various options but didn’t wear it!
Although there are types that suppress the chest, they didn’t fit well.
I decided to go all out and chose an import-style dress that beautifully showcased my chest.
Response 8
I’m a dress coordinator! Bridal Bloom's luxurious corset beautifully suppresses bust volume, so I recommend it.
They have a size for under 75, so I would recommend that. However, be cautious as a heart-cut dress might show a bit of the chest.
Response 9
I’m a dress coordinator! There are types of bridal innerwear that flatten the chest 😊
Also, opting for a princess line dress instead of a mermaid style can draw less attention to the chest thanks to the volume in the skirt!
Additionally, wearing your hair down can reduce the visible area✨ Just a little tip✨✨
Response 10
I'm a bridal makeup artist!
I also help with dressing, and there are corset-style innerwear that suppress the chest as well 🥰
Actually, innerwear is very important, and many brides often bring borrowed or old items thinking “it’s unseen and I’ll wear it only once,”
but I often feel it's a waste that they could have worn something that fits perfectly to their purpose and how they want to present themselves…
All the staff at the dress salon are professionals, so don’t hesitate to consult with them!
Response 11
I am a graduate bride who had my wedding last year. My bust size is almost the same as yours. I’m 164 cm tall, and I wore an A-line and princess line dress for the ceremony.
This may not solve your problem, but I think there's no need at all to suppress bust volume.
In fact, I think it's unflattering to wear a dress without enough chest volume. However, to make the chest look beautiful, it's definitely better to wear bridal innerwear!
Response 12
I work at a dress shop 💗
There are innerwear manufacturers that have options for women with larger busts! I recommend the luxurious corset from Bloom ☺️ It helps to suppress the chest size while beautifully showcasing the bust line✨
Customers who wear sizes above F cup or those who are nursing and have larger busts are usually very happy with it 😊
If the dress shop you’re consulting with has the Bloom innerwear available, it might be worth asking about it!✨
Response 13
I’m also F75!
There are surprisingly many people who are troubled by large chests, and there are innerwear options specifically for those who have this concern.^^
Response 14
I deliberately chose to showcase my chest with a heart-cut dress.
Heart-cuts are the most beautiful shape for women with larger busts, so it’s a privilege! ⭐️
I didn’t feel it was inappropriate, and I chose styles that hid the cleavage.
I used Wacoal for my innerwear, which provides firm support. Innerwear is important, so I didn’t cut corners on my budget and bought a proper one.
Response 15
I also had the same size and struggled with my big chest. But through repeated fittings, I found a dress that didn’t draw attention to my bust, and I decided on that!
From my personal experience, dresses with large petticoats, blue-colored dresses, and heart-cut dresses didn’t highlight my chest.
Conversely, mermaid dresses made my bust stand out weirdly and didn't suit me.
Response 16
I’m also a size E cup and looking for a dress that doesn’t emphasize the bust!
The dress shop assistant advised:
☑︎ Avoid wide heart-cuts or straight necklines, and choose those with gentle curves.
☑︎ Choose decoration on the bust that’s not too flashy.
☑︎ Avoid high-waisted dresses as they can create a hollow under the bust.
That was the advice I received!
Depending on who dresses you, the look can be completely different, so it's really important to find someone skilled at dressing.
I chose a colored dress with movement at the bust, and it looked stunningly clean and beautiful.
Response 17
I am envious of your troubles as I am flat-chested... (laughs) But I thought about sharing since we share a concern regarding chest!
I wanted to hide my modest bust, so I layered a lace bolero up to the neckline over my original dress so that it wouldn’t be too revealing!
It was very cute with lots of embroidery!
Response 18
A costume shop mentioned that dresses with large ribbons or decorations at the top don’t make either large or small chests stand out. 😊
Response 19
I also have a large chest, and when trying on, it looked like it would overflow from the dress... Either bulging out to the sides or compressing into a cleavage…
That can make you look heavier too.
Many correction garments tend to gather the flesh in the bust area. They can make the lines look beautiful, but they tend to emphasize the chest.
I used bust massage cream to keep my chest contained within the cups by massaging to pack flesh under and inside. This made my décolletage and arms look sleek and prevented compression in the dress.
I think I was able to wear my dress much prettier than when it was compressed.
Response 20
I am a size H70. I chose my dress from a shop affiliated with the venue, and for the color change, I wore the same wedding dress, both came with heart-cuts.
I didn’t choose undergarments designed to elevate; instead, I opted for ones that give a rounded shape.
Heart cuts are said to be recommended for those with larger busts! It is said to make the area from the shoulders to the collarbone look beautifully sleek. ☺️
Response 21
I opted for a dress design where cleavage doesn't show from the bust area! Just not showing cleavage made a significant difference!
Response 22
I struggled a lot with bridal innerwear as I am H75.
I semi-ordered innerwear from a company called Arte Intima, but initially, I couldn’t properly contain my bust and had to make adjustments. Eventually, I found it best to use an E-cup size innerwear to suppress my chest effectively.
I wore the dress so that the bodice came over the chest, and I think it was well contained on the day of the event!
Response 23
I usually wear G70, and my bridal innerwear was H70 💦
When I chose innerwear that fit properly and selected a heart-cut dress, it didn't seem to be a problem.
Trying to flatten the chest draws more attention to the cleavage.
Response 24
I wear a larger cup, but didn’t choose a dress that accentuated my chest.
When I put it on, surprisingly, my chest looked beautiful and sleek, which pleased me more than feeling overly emphasized.
(In my case, it was somewhat special because I wanted to wear a traditional white kimono rather than a wedding dress, so my concern lessened.)
However, I regret that on the day I started my period and, suffering from cramps, I had to loosen the dress and innerwear, which made the dress slip down 😥
They tried to fix it at the venue, but I couldn’t wear the dress in perfect condition.
I did think I could have chosen a dress with lace sleeves or a dress that had a lace overlay to cover more.
Response 25
Forasis has innerwear that minimizes the appearance of the bust! I forgot the name, but I’m considering getting it!
Response 26
I also have F70 and struggled with choosing dresses, as everything emphasized my bust...
Therefore, I chose undergarments that weren’t too constricting and decreased the height difference between the waist and chest.
I selected a dress in mikado silk with a large cape, which helped draw attention away from my chest itself!
Response 27
I am also F75. I struggled with the same issue but ultimately decided to choose undergarments aimed at showing “beauty.”
Response 28
I am also a prospective bride, but with H75, I’m struggling as I don’t even have innerwear that fits 💦
I considered overseas-style dresses, but it’s hard to find good options... Should I lose weight to reduce my bust…?
Response 29
I have the same size as the person asking the question!
I am also a bridal dress coordinator.
I have always tried to figure out how to make it less noticeable for those who have similar issues, including my sister and me.
The best thing I found was to wear a soft fabric corset without cups, then wrap it with gauze and then wear the dress! This way helps make the bust less noticeable even with a larger chest!
Everyone’s softness and firmness may vary, but definitely give it a try!
Response 30
I also have an E-F cup and faced challenges in choosing dresses and innerwear 😭
After trying on several, I found that empire designs or those with straps made me look thicker, so I thought the corset style looked the best! Off-shoulder styles were nice too.
I tried dresses with deep backs, but wearing a nu-bra looked kind of excessive and unstable, so I think choosing dresses while considering the need for innerwear is advisable.
For innerwear, I was typically advised to go with corset types which raise the bust, making it more noticeable, and that’s what I ended up using on the day.
Response 31
There were also options at the bridal innerwear shop at Asakusa Bridge to minimize the bust size!
I also used it because I wanted to avoid an overly prominent chest 😊
Response 32
I have G70, but I gave up hiding it and opted for a corset-type dress instead!
Unless the cleavage is excessively exposed, it seems like no one would notice much since we’re not used to seeing each other in wedding dresses 🙆♀️
Response 33
I chose both innerwear and dresses without any decorations or padding. Innerwear tends to have so much lace, which is frustrating!!
The dress was designed to cover the bust without overflowing, but if it covered too much, it could make it appear bulky, so I kept it simple to create a sleek look at the bust.
I chose an imported dress with volume at the lower half, which provided good contrast, and I think it turned out well (*´꒳`*) The construction of Japanese dresses can be troublesome as they often emphasize a smaller bust...
Response 34
I’ve always had a complex about my large bust, and I have a similar size.
I started looking for dresses that covered the chest to make it appear smaller, but that actually drew more attention, so I decided to choose an imported style.
Japanese dresses often have a height from the bust to the sides, but imported ones tend to be flatter, so they don’t compress the chest, making it look smaller.
I also used an item from the brand The D. In the first fitting, it emphasized the bust too much, and upon consulting, they recommended a larger cup size, and chose something that naturally showcased the chest’s shape beautifully.
Response 35
I opted for semi-custom bridal innerwear at Watabe Wedding, which fits perfectly for my bust size, effectively covering the volume.
During fittings, I had to use trial sizes that didn’t fit, which caused my breast tissue to overflow.
Response 36
I chose a dress design where cleavage isn’t visible from the bust!
Just not having visible cleavage made a notable difference. Normally, I used standard innerwear, and it worked out fine.
The dress featured a straight neckline that beautifully highlights the chest without being overly emphasized, unlike heart-cuts.
Response 37
I made sure to choose a V-cut dress! Strapless styles make the chest appear larger.
Response 38
I used to be a dress coordinator.
There are innerwear that makes the chest appear smaller! I recommend the luxurious corset from Bridal Bloom!
I have an F cup too, and when I tried it, I found the chest area looked sleeker and thinner.
However, it’s sad that there aren't many options for dresses with deep back styles because the innerwear can show.
Response 39
I think there were innerwear that suppresses the chest, but I've only seen one before!
Also, having innerwear that fits well and pulling flesh down from the sides and back can help reduce overflow!
Wearing the dress over from the top would also make the chest less noticeable! (from someone working in bridal hair and makeup)
Response 40
I share the same concerns 💦 Even dresses I like have too much cleavage, so I’ve given up on them 💦💦
At a reception with over 200 guests, about 100 of them will be work-related guests of the groom, so exposing too much of my chest concerns me 💦💦
The wedding dress I chose has long sleeves and covers my bust 😌 It has a classical feel 😌
It matches the atmosphere of a hotel wedding, and being a bride in my 30s, it feels neat and well-presented, which is why I love it.✨💓
Response 41
I chose a dress that highlights the waist! Doing so allows for a defined silhouette, changing the impression from looking heavy to looking stylish!

It seems there are surprisingly various bridal innerwear options for people with large chests.
Try asking the dress shop to order some so you can give them a try!
However, everyone’s chest shape, texture, and perception vary. While we have received various reviews, please remember to try things out for yourself and choose what fits your body and feelings best.♩
