I Created a Bouquet with a Message♡

Recently, Keiko from Marry went on maternity leave, so we all gifted her a bouquet.

At that time, I decided to try something I had been curious about for a long time: "writing a message on the wrapping paper of the bouquet"♩

A message on the wrapping paper...??

Many people might not have an image of this, but it looks something like this♡

The idea is to write a message on the wrapping paper that wraps the flowers using a white Posca pen, turning the bouquet into a letter...

Traditionally, when giving a farewell party gift or a maternity leave gift from a company or group, it was common to prepare a message book and a bouquet separately, but this idea allows you to combine both♩

We used this "letter bouquet made with transparent wrapping and white Posca" as a model and ordered it from a florist.

<The model bouquet we used>

And here is the letter bouquet we created.

It was surprising for everyone, and preparing it was fun, so I highly recommend it♡ It's an impactful bouquet*

I've summarized my thoughts on the experience of actually making a bouquet with a message, the steps taken, and other reflections, so please refer to it.

First, I contacted the florist.

To create a bouquet with a message, you need to bring the wrapping paper with the message written on it.

Additionally, not every florist may accommodate this, so it’s best to go directly to the shop, show a picture, and ask, “Can you create a bouquet like this?”

We asked a florist called "Violet" located in Akasaka, Tokyo.

Once the florist agreed to help, I communicated how much volume I wanted for the bouquet, my budget, what flowers I wanted included, and what flowers I didn’t want.

The florist then provided me with two sheets of transparent wrapping paper (including one as a spare) sized according to the volume of flowers.

The film was quite large, about the size of poster paper, but

I was instructed to write in an A4 area in the center and upper part of the film.

If I wrote within this designated area and brought it back to the store, they would wrap the flowers nicely with a good balance.

However…!!

We got carried away and wrote too much, exceeding the designated area…

When I took the film paper back, thinking, “How will this turn out...><”

☑︎ To show the message part, I need to increase the volume of flowers.

☑︎ Even if I increased the flower volume, the length couldn’t be changed, leaving some film leftover.

This resulted in...!

The film paper ended up extending about 10 cm above the flowers.

If we had written within the specified area, it probably would have been perfectly sized (the message would fit just above the flowers).

(Of course, since it was transparent paper, the flowers were visible, and this looks super cute while showing our heartfelt thoughts!)

In the end, our letter bouquet turned out to be this big...! It’s the same height as a 90 cm child!

(Thank you to the florist♡)

I want to create a bouquet with a message again♡

I had long wanted to create a bouquet with a message written on the wrapping paper♡

Next time, when I give a bouquet to someone I appreciate for their birthday, wedding, maternity leave, or birth celebration, I will definitely try to do this.

The moment they receive it, they must think, “Wow, amazing...!!” “I’ve never seen this before.......!!” with joy.

I want to create it again♩
