"Think About It: Types of Gift Items That Aren't Listed on Mercari!"

It's Sad When Things End Up on Mercari.
Recently, I came across a tweet on Twitter that said, "I sold the wedding favors on Mercari! Participating in a wedding is pricey, but this makes it a bit easier! lol."
Wedding favors being sold on Mercari...!!!!???
It's true for any gift, but selling the celebratory feelings on Mercari may be efficient, but it can definitely be shocking for the giver, and the seller is likely to feel some pain too.
I imagine it's often like, "But I don't need it, and I won't use it, so I might as well sell it on Mercari!"
In this article, I want to share my views or impressions about "wedding favors that are easy to list on Mercari and those that are hard to list."
(I felt like there were some trends while looking at the wedding favors listed on Mercari...!)
First, commonly listed items.
① Unbranded tableware
② Tiffany tableware
③ Wedgwood tableware
④ Disney tableware
⑤ Glassware and mugs
It seems that most of the items are tableware.
Items from Tiffany and Wedgwood are popular items that can be chosen from wedding favor catalogs, so I think they inevitably end up with more listings...
I noticed that there were many listings for Festivity, Wild Strawberry, Tiffany's Blue Box (the design with blue and white ribbons), and 5th Avenue.
I even checked the selling prices out of curiosity,
✅ Unbranded and Disney items are about the same price. (Cheap)
✅ Tiffany items tend to be slightly higher than Wedgwood.
✅ The Festivity series generally sells for low prices.
✅ Wild Strawberry is a bit more expensive.
That’s how it looked.
Items that are not frequently listed.
On the other hand, I researched which wedding favors are not often listed.
✅ Towels
✅ Catalog gifts
✅ Food
The listings for these were sparse.
As expected, towels are practical....
Catalog gifts were also limited in number. It’s not surprising, but it seems that it’s often quicker and cheaper to buy the desired item than going through Mercari.
(Except for those who are particularly keen on getting that specific item only available through that catalog gift.)
Regarding <Food>, I was surprised at first and wondered, "Is it really okay to sell food on Mercari? Without any permissions?"
According to Mercari's rules:
✅ Food that has been opened or has an expiration (quality maintenance) date of less than a week from arrival.
✅ Food without health or business permits (including those without packaging or food labeling).
It seems that anything else can be listed. However, items like return gifts were not frequently listed.
Additionally, items that had personalization were also not listed much. Items with company names or group commemorative items, like plates with logos printed on the bottom, had quite a few listings.
I hope they like it as much as possible...!
Above is my extremely subjective reflection while looking at Mercari.
✅ For tableware, choose white items from brands rather than patterned ones.
✅ Sizes like individual plates that aren't too large.
✅ For towels, try to give bath towels rather than the commonly received face towels.
There really are "rules for selecting wedding favors that can be properly used."
But it is only natural for brides to want to choose something they like or something that can show a bit of individuality rather than going through the process of elimination.
All that said, it would be a bit sad if something you gave as a wedding favor ended up being listed by a friend on Mercari...
I have many thoughts about this, but what do you all think???
