"Key Points for Choosing a Wedding Venue: What is the Design of This Venue's Showplate?"

The Face of Table Coordination is, After All, the Plate.
Hello, I’m Haruno Tsuzaki from marry*
I love plates, and when choosing a restaurant, I often decide where to go by thinking, "Oh, this plate is so cute♡ I want to see it♡"
Recently, while pondering about plates, I was mindlessly looking at photos of guest tables at weddings, and I had a little question.
That is,
"Huh? Everyone puts a lot of effort into table coordination for weddings, but isn't the centerpiece the showplate? Then, isn't it really important what kind of showplates the wedding venue has?"
That’s the thought.
When I think about it....
Almost all the wonderful table coordination seen in stylish wedding photos from abroad features cute plates.
They are unique, highly designed, and clearly seem to say, "This was chosen based on someone's taste or hobby," which does not follow the usual design and conveys a message or intent.
<For instance, this coordination photo.>
The flowers are arranged to match the color of the showplate.
It's likely that the order of thought is plates ➡︎ flowers.
It feels like the overall coordination is considered based on the world of the plates...
That’s the impression I get.
In Japanese wedding venues, showplates are often set simply to accommodate a variety of tastes among brides.
There are many pure white ones... and while their shapes might vary (some are wavy), even if they have designs, they often feature:
✅ Gold around the edges
✅ Glass material
✅ Lace patterns
etc.
Many of them feel quite standard and safe, and it's not the kind of vibe that says, "You can choose what you like!" "Let's think about table coordination to highlight the plates♩"
However, if I were to hold a wedding and wanted to focus on floral arrangements and table coordination from the very beginning, I would think it might be good to at least confirm, "Is there any design on the showplate that I dislike?" during the venue tour.
I might not like something like this....
Just as a hypothetical example,
I love bright white spaces, so if the only available showplates are stylish, black ones, I feel like there's no way I could create a favorite coordination, and that would be unpleasant.
Conversely, the restaurant Maison Premiere in Ebisu that I visited recently had "such cute plates" that I learned were custom-made in France, with complete specification of colors, which made me feel satisfied and excited.
(Not just green, but various colors based on the shape and size of the plates!)
Check During the Venue Visit*
If it isn't unique, is it thoroughly simple?
(If it's simple, it should harmonize nicely with the flowers for a lovely coordination♥)
Is the design of that showplate, which likely has limited choices, something that I find unpleasant?
I thought it's worth considering at least those points.
(I have heard of a bride who felt really disappointed after the contract when she realized the plates were gold!)
