"Suggesting Wooden Toys as Gifts for Child Guests: The Possibility of Candy Being a No-Go!"

Is It a No-Go to Give Candy to Children?
Recently, I was talking with a friend who has children.
"I'm trying to avoid giving my kids store-bought snacks as much as possible, but when we attended a wedding recently, there were store-bought sweets left as gifts at the children's table..."
"I appreciate the thought, but all my efforts to not let my child eat them have gone down the drain."
"I’m strict about giving sweets only during snack time, but since the wedding was in the morning, it messed up our meal schedule (they immediately spotted the sweets and wanted to eat them, so I ended up giving in...)"
"We've been avoiding character-themed snacks and junk food up until now, but after learning about character snacks at the wedding, my child cried and wanted to buy those snacks at the supermarket afterward."
"I really appreciate the consideration, but if they need snacks, I usually bring what they like myself (everyone has their preferences...) So while I’m grateful, it can actually be problematic… because kids want everything they see..."
They said this.
Indeed, many families have different policies regarding children's snacks, kids have their preferences, and there might also be allergies.
The idea of "giving candy to children who come to a wedding" is a common topic, but I thought there might be situations where it's better to avoid doing so...??
So, What Would Be Appreciated?
That said, not giving anything to child guests feels somewhat lonely.
If it’s not a snack, "toys" could be a strong candidate, but when I asked that friend, they said,
"I would love wooden toys!"
Wooden toys have the following advantages:
✅ Safe because they are made from natural materials
✅ A bit too pricey for personal purchase
✅ Durable and long-lasting
✅ Not influenced by children's or parents' preferences
(Character items can be picky, but wooden toys are simple and generally accepted)
They said these aspects are great.
Simple wooden toys that have been loved for a long time surely seem to be a safe bet!
Here are some cute wooden toys that would likely be appreciated as gifts♩
① P.F WORK SHOP
"P.F WORK SHOP," a brand known for carefully handcrafted wooden toys and home goods.
While many dinosaur toys are made of plastic and have scary faces, P.F WORK SHOP's dinosaurs are made of wood, and all have cute, soothing expressions. It seems they mostly feature gentle herbivorous dinosaurs like Triceratops, Brachiosaurus, and Stegosaurus.
A set of ice cream toys available only in July and August! It includes a square ice on a stick, a half-eaten ice cream, and a tree-shaped ice cream, three pieces in total♡
Their drawing board is a world apart from what you find in toy stores. It’s striped, and the sliding mechanism to erase what you’ve written is shaped like a star♡
Even their block-like car looks stylish. It has magnets at both ends, allowing for connected play♩
A wooden toy lip. Just like a real lip product, it can be twisted to be taken out or put away♩ Perfect for a little fashionable girl♡

The wooden toy brand "kiko+" is famous for its "star dominoes." The star dominoes are also popular as wedding certificates!
This is kiko's airplane♡ The rounded body has a warm feeling to it*
This is a stylish propeller plane in black and white. The star mark on the wings looks cool!
The nostalgic "water toy" that used to come as an extra with cheap snacks is now so stylish under kiko+! It makes a fun sound that will likely attract adults too*
③ Mum.
"Mum." is a brand of wooden toys made with FDA-approved wood beads that are safe for babies to put in their mouths.
The colorful wooden beads used in their teething toys feature muted colors that are very trendy!
Apollo and lemon colors, among others, are eagerly awaited for seasonal product releases♩
Wooden Toys Seem to Be a Great Gift for Child Guests*
When inviting child guests to a wedding, it’s tempting to think, "They’ll probably be happier with snacks! They'll keep eating during the reception and that’ll help pass the time!"
However, when I actually asked moms, it turns out that due to family policies, the timing of when kids eat (the reception time might not coincide with snack time), as well as likes, dislikes, and allergies, it may actually be better to refrain from giving out snacks.
On the other hand, I received feedback that "wooden toys would really make them happy!" So having wooden toys as a gift option is definitely recommended♩
The three brands mentioned this time are popular on Instagram, and all of their toys are stylish and cute, which should also appeal to the children’s parents♡
