Suddenly, I love searching for cute amulets across the country ♡

So far, I have introduced many wonderful amulets from various places in Japan in marry articles*

Just recently, while searching on Instagram for "cute amulets," I discovered a new style of amulet that I've never seen before, and I'd like to introduce it ♩

It’s the "Enmusubi (love binding) Amulet" from Senkoji Temple in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture*

An Amulet Like a Herbarium ♡

Here is the Enmusubi Amulet from Senkoji Temple*

The white string is for men. Inside the bottle, there are coins and money, and the red string is for women.

Inside the bottle, there is a hairpin tied with a love letter.

Since this is a love binding amulet,

women should wear the female amulet and keep the male one aside, which is said to help find someone to pair with♡ (For men, it’s the opposite: carry the male amulet and set the female one aside*)

If you find someone you cherish, you can give it to them* It’s said to be blessed for both of you to live happily together, so you should continue to cherish each other♩

It’s a rare amulet that prays for both "enmusubi" and "harmony"*

If you already have that special someone♡, it’s also wonderful to wear matching amulets right from the start*

Other Amulets Are Wonderful Too!

At Senkoji Temple in Hiroshima Prefecture, there are other wonderful amulets too ♡

This one is called "Medashi Daruma."

As the name suggests, the eyes of the daruma pop out!

It is said to pray for good fortune to emerge from your hard work and open up your fortune*

This is the "Nasu Mamori."

This is an amulet that plays on the words “nasu” (eggplant) and “nasu” (to achieve), praying for effort to bear fruit and for dreams and wishes to come true. It contains a strong auspicious charm inside*

The "Rokuhyotan (No Disease, Safety)" amulet contains:

✅ The image of Senju Kannon, the main deity of Senkoji Temple, who grants wishes.

✅ Five small "hyotan" (gourds) are included, making a total of six when combined with the outside "hyotan."

The six gourds are called "Rokuhyotan," which is considered an auspicious item for "no disease and safety" based on a phonetic pun*

There’s also a cute amulet called "Sakura-dama Happiness Amulet" ♡

It seems you can also have Senkoji amulets mailed to you♩

Senkoji Temple Has Even More Charm~

Senkoji Temple, known for its herbarium-like love binding amulet, has lots of charm!

It is located halfway up Mount Taiho, overlooking Onomichi Port, and taking the ropeway to Senkoji Temple is convenient*

You can see the famous legend "Tama no Iwa" (Rock of Balls) midway on the ropeway*

This is the breathtaking view from Senkoji Temple♡

Inside the precincts, there is the "Kyoon-ro Bell," which has been selected as one of “Japan's 100 Soundscapes”*

Senkoji Temple also hosts many seasonal events, making it enjoyable to visit each time.

On New Year’s Day of 2020, they released a New Year's amulet stamp with omikuji (fortune-telling strips)*

However, despite being called omikuji, all the results are "daikyo" (great misfortune). They encourage people to write over "kyo" to change it into "daifuku" (great fortune) themselves*

From July 1 to September 30, 2020, the Fukuzuzu Festival is being held♩

I Want to Visit Senkoji Temple in Hiroshima ♡
