"Chosen by a 34-Year-Old: Restaurants with Delicious Cuisine That You'd Love to Be Invited to a Wedding♡"
2021.01.20 published
If you're particular about your cooking...
"Everyone thinks they want to serve delicious food at their wedding," right?
In various surveys about weddings, "the tastiness of the food" always ranks high among the important factors for couples when choosing their wedding venue.
But!
How do you think we can find wedding venues with delicious food...???
In my opinion!!!!
From my perspective, it’s probably really rare to find wedding venues with delicious food.
I think it's very difficult to find them.
To be precise, I want to say, "the food served by wedding venues that operate like a business is likely less delicious."
(Of course, there might be wedding venues with delicious food, but it's a matter of probability!)
Here's why.
If you were an excellent chef, where would you want to work?
Personally, I'd want to work at a restaurant that incorporates seasonal ingredients, carefully selecting them, and preparing dishes that showcase those ingredients at their best for customers to enjoy.
In that sense, wedding cuisine is the exact opposite.
✅ The variety of dishes and course structure often change only every few years.
✅ You have to prepare a somewhat similar menu throughout the year.
✅ When you have to cook the same dish for dozens of people (like 80 or 60 people) simultaneously, your options for what you can make and the ingredients you can source become limited.
It seems that wedding venues are workplaces with a lot of restrictions regarding food.
If I were a chef who purely wanted to create and deliver dishes I like to those who appreciate my cooking, I imagine that wedding venues wouldn't be a top choice.
So, in my view, "food from restaurants is more delicious than food from wedding venues." (But thinking about it, doesn’t that just make sense...?)
Therefore, if you want to choose a wedding venue based on the deliciousness of the food, I think the shortcut is to "search for restaurants that offer weddings."
Of course, the food served at weddings will likely differ from what is typically served at restaurants, but...
If you compare dishes you've only tasted during wedding tasting events with the ones from your favorite restaurants, the food from your favorite restaurant would feel more trustworthy and satisfying. Plus, knowing that "this is the restaurant the couple always went to on dates!" gives a lovely sense of home.
In this article, I will introduce "restaurants in Tokyo I’ve found delicious that also offer weddings."
① Etruschi
This is a restaurant I've been visiting regularly with family, friends, and coworkers at least once a month for the past year or two.
It's a two-story house restaurant with a Southern Provence atmosphere located near the new Cafe Kitsune in Omotesando. (Isn’t it amazing to have a house restaurant in Omotesando?)
Since it's Italian (reportedly government-certified from Italy!), the pasta is delicious, and I’m always very satisfied. I heard there's a course at the wedding menu that includes two pasta dishes. Guests are very lucky!
The interior of the restaurant feels like a foreign mansion, which is♡ wonderful and creates a relaxed feeling. All the staff are kind and smart; I have never felt anything unpleasant after many visits, which is amazing, isn’t it?
There is no chapel inside the restaurant, so the ceremony is held at the nearby Le Ange Church in Minami Aoyama, and then the reception is at Etruschi.
Operated by Takami Bridal, so you can rent Takami Bridal dresses.
A member of marry also had their wedding at Etruschi♡
(It's Nagisa!)

② Maison Première
This restaurant is located on a hill between Daikanyama and Ebisu, right in front of the Shuwa Ebisu Residence, in a white building.
When I visited with everyone from marry, I remember the food being delicious.
(Recently, I hear it was also featured on "Gochi ni Narimasu!")
The lobby is spacious and has an open feel, creating a natural atmosphere with a wooden touch. The reception room has large windows that let in plenty of natural light.

The private room where we had our meal was bright with windows, had a macaron color scheme, and I felt happy surrounded by my favorite aesthetics.
I remarked how lovely the plates matched the room's colors, and at the end, the staff revealed, "The dishes are custom-made in France," which made complete sense.
The restaurant is run by a company that operates Hibiya Palace and ENEKO Tokyo, which gives some assurance of quality, doesn’t it?
The company, Prio, also has a stylish dress salon called MAISON DE BLANCHE.
(L’Udovintage and Villa de Mariage are also part of the same group! ♡)
With delicious food and stylish outfits in one place, it seems likely to create a perfect wedding.
They also offer a service where they use fruits to draw pictures and write names on plates, which is a unique and beautiful presentation.

Ristorante ASO
I think the Hiramat su group's cuisine is consistently delicious.
They have many restaurants, but if I were to have a wedding, I would choose Ristorante ASO on the old Yamate Avenue in Daikanyama. It's spacious, has a garden, and is a house restaurant that I love.
It is often used as a venue for dress exhibitions.
It's famous, a classic, and reliable, so I doubt anyone would think, "I feel like the food at a Hiramatsu wedding won't be good."
Most people would probably think, "Yay, I get to eat Hiramatsu food! ♡"

Many Hiramat su restaurants are designed like standard wedding reception venues, so even for those who prefer a classic reception-style setting, there are plenty of attractive options to choose from.
