Unlike course meals, which can be tailored, buffet style meals are more challenging to accommodate individual allergies, so it is essential to prepare allergy cards that inform guests to "please be aware of the following allergies in today's dishes."

It is definitely advisable to prepare them in advance, so it would be good to ask the venue staff for detailed information about the dishes and get them ready.
