I believe many were looking forward to the live-action adaptation being determined, but due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been released directly on Disney+ (Disney's official streaming service) instead of in theaters.

Mulan is the story of a girl who disguises herself as a man and goes to war in order to protect her beloved family, taking her sick father’s place.

Set against the backdrop of Chinese folk tales from the Northern and Southern Dynasties, it is one of the popular stories among Disney's works with a slightly different atmosphere.

Many may have loved the original animated version back in the day.

The lead role in the live-action Mulan is played by Liu Yifei, an actress from China.

The supporting cast is made up of renowned and skilled actors famous in China.

The Japanese dub is handled by Ryo Asuka, a former Takarazuka top star who played male roles.*

People are talking about how fitting and cool it is that Asuka, who played top male roles in Takarazuka, is portraying Mulan fighting as a man.

There are no musical elements.

When it comes to Disney's live-action adaptations, they are characterized by plenty of singing and dancing, with titles like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King.

However, this time, Mulan does not have any musical scenes, focusing more on the story.
