The Gift I Decided on After Much Consideration!

Hello, I’m Haruno Tsuzaki from marry.

Recently, I had the opportunity to choose a gift.

I posted about it on my Instagram, as I wanted to thank a wonderfully classy woman who gave me a flower gift.

Since she is such an amazing woman, I figured she probably has everything and knows everything, so I struggled to decide what would be an appropriate thank-you gift.

She is into tea and collaborates on sweets, and since flowers are her main business, a balloon bouquet wouldn't be right either...

After thinking about what would be stylish, suitable, and what would delight her, I decided to choose this candle♡

A diptyque candle!

Almost everyone I follow on Instagram who I think is stylish has one, loves it, says it's great, and often posts pictures of it, so I was quite curious.

I’ve also mentioned it on the marry website; it’s a popular product from a brand very famous for its Parisian scents.

The aromatic candle, made through 12 handcrafted processes, is about 8000 yen for the standard size of 190g.

This year, a diptyque set was chosen as a Christmas gift for customers by Van Cleef & Arpels, so I thought it must be a safe choice♡

(Since candles are consumables, if she already has the same one, she can just keep it as a backup!)

There are various scents♡

Diptyque candles come in over 50 different scents.

They can be bought in online shops, but I wanted to try the scents in person, so I went to their Aoyama store to make my purchase.

Since she gave me roses, I picked the ROSE scent candle.

It struck me as a wonderful idea to gift a rose candle in return for the roses she gave me!♡

I wasn’t considering any scent other than rose, but after smelling it, I found it to be really pleasant♡

I also decided to give some to my beloved marry team as Christmas gifts.

However, gifting a scent can be tricky.

If I had a clear reason like, “I received roses from someone who loves flowers, so I’ll go with the rose scent!" it would’ve been easy...

Scent preferences can vary widely from person to person, which made me hesitate, but I thought I should start by giving something I personally think is good, so I selected from about 20 scents (I only tried floral and herbal scents), and here are the ones I chose.

BAIES and FIGUIER are bestsellers from diptyque.

I really wanted to choose these two. They are famous and I thought they would be delightful gifts, so I was happy to find they smelled wonderful when I tried them♡

The “BAIES” has a scent of cassis and green roses.

The “FIGUIER” has a fig scent.

The labels differ by scent.

The lettering design of the names is very chic, and I found myself pondering, “This label lettering is stylish, but maybe I don’t like the scent...”

I also chose the floral “FREESIA” and the lemon-like scent of verbena flowers, “VERVEINE.”

Now I want some accessories...

When I got home and opened up the wrapping for my own candle, the scent filled my room before even lighting it, and it made me so happy♡

I was delighted when the person who gave me the roses said, “I love this♡,” and the marry team also enjoyed it!♡

At diptyque, there are several accessories available to enhance the enjoyment of candles.

For example, this holiday season, they have a setup where the carousel slowly turns when the candle is lit by heat...

It sparkles and is really lovely, making me want it.

And then there’s this.

A glass dome that covers the candle.

It keeps the strong scent sealed in, but it looks stylish too.

I have completely fallen in love with diptyque through this experience♡

It seems there are store-exclusive scents since they have locations all over the world, and I dream of collecting those scents one day...

(I think I’ll try to persuade my travel-loving husband to take me.)

Above all, this was a very personal topic.

It was a very private story about how I struggled to decide on a present for someone stylish and what I chose...

But diptyque candles are,
