A Mysterious Work That Looks Like a Plane*
While I was scrolling through Instagram, I came across a mysterious vase.
This is a work by the ceramic artist Marianne Hallberg, and it has the appearance of something drawn on a flat piece of paper, but the flowers displayed are undeniably three-dimensional, real ones.
For a moment, you might feel confused wondering “What’s going on??”...!
A Piece Made by the Daughter of a Florist.
The mysterious vase is created by ceramic artist Marianne Hallberg, who was born in 1952 as the daughter of a florist in Höör, Sweden.
Her works are characterized by unique pieces that seem to fuse 2D and 3D, with sketches drawn on a flat surface that rise up in a three-dimensional way.
(It feels like a 2D café...!)
Many Works Featuring Vases♡
Marianne Hallberg has a variety of works, including tableware and dish towels, but she has many different types of flower vases. (Perhaps this is because she was born as the daughter of a florist??)
◆ Floral Vase
◆ Perfume Bottle Vase
◆ Water Bottle Vase
◆ Lamp & Cord Vase
◆ Bear and its Shadow Vase
◆ Checkered Vase
◆ Nail Polish Vases (Round & Square)

The vases range from 7,700 yen to 33,000 yen.
(There is a line of original pottery made in Sweden and a mass-produced line in collaboration with Seto pottery in Japan*)
These would be a delightful gift for a friend who loves flowers♡
