Postal Workers in Trouble: Increasing Trend of Letters Sealed Only with Wax Stamps Shared on TikTok

A Postal Worker’s TikTok Went Viral
A certain postal worker's post on TikTok has been gaining attention.
The content was a request and warning stating, “Please do not seal your letters with only a sealing stamp. We are having trouble with seals opening during delivery. Please ensure you securely glue the envelope closed and then apply the sealing stamp.”
In the comments section, many people expressed their surprise, saying, “Wait, are there really people who do that? Isn't it common sense to glue it closed before sending it??”
Since postal workers feel the need to communicate this, it seems likely that there are indeed quite a few letters that have only a sealing stamp or sticker affixed and are loosely sealed in the mailboxes.
If the envelope isn't completely closed, there is a risk that other letters or postcards may get caught or lodged during sorting or transport, leading to the seal opening and the contents spilling out!
While there's a certain trust in sealing stamps since they are made of wax and generally don’t peel off easily, relying on just that isn't enough.
If the seal opens, postal workers or delivery staff may sometimes notice and secure it with tape, but that doesn’t really make it okay.
There's a higher chance of causing postal accidents or complaints, which benefits neither party.
It’s an obvious but important point.
Not sealing with just a sealing stamp or sticker is common sense, but even with masking tape, glue sticks, or clear tape, if the adhesive is weak, they can easily peel off.
Surely, people working in the postal service must be troubled by such issues too.
I doubt anyone would send out wedding invitations without gluing them down, relying solely on a sealing stamp...!
From now on, whenever I send mail, I intend to glue it securely from end to end, prioritizing strength in sealing it!*
