A beautiful silhouette that purifies the heart *
The bamboo crafts such as chopsticks and kitchen tools made by the artist Kazuhito Shimomoto are truly beautiful, so I thought surely the readers of marry would love them too... and I'm excited to introduce them ♡
The first thing I thought was wonderful was these bamboo chopsticks.
They have a sharp shape, with finely pointed ends that exude elegance.
Even a simple leftover breakfast at home looks beautiful with these chopsticks.
Each corner is carefully smoothed and designed to fit comfortably in your hand, just like a comfortable ring.
The material used is bamboo. The specific type used is called Moso bamboo.
Since the bamboo is processed after being smoked, it has insect and decay resistance. The unique aroma of the smoke adds a sense of elegance.
There are such items ♡
In addition to chopsticks....
✅ Bamboo tongs
✅ Dessert fork
✅ Dessert spoon
✅ Fruit fork
✅ Miso spatula
✅ The very popular ladle.
(The round part on top of the handle is cute!)
✅ Slotted ladle. It is said that only three can be made in a day due to the labor involved.
✅ A lamp designed like a tea whisk!
✅ Spoon and fork for babies
✅ Rice paddle

Thoughts through bamboo
Kazuhito Shimomoto originally worked as a charcoal artisan deep in the mountains of Kochi. Along with selling bamboo as charcoal, he creates bamboo crafts using the same material.
Bamboo, necessary for charcoal production, grows so prolifically that it overwhelms the mountains and leads to environmental issues... this is one aspect of the situation.
By creating items that blend into human life from this bamboo, he finds joy in the idea that bamboo can enhance the beauty of human life and bring happiness... and this is reportedly why Kazuhito Shimomoto continues to make bamboo crafts.
Although the artist does not have an official Instagram account or website, he has had solo exhibitions and is featured in select shops, so please be sure to check them out ♡
These would also make great gifts for weddings or other occasions, and I think they’d be very well-received ♡
