This place is famous for its beach scattered with colorful, vibrant glass sand ♡

You might wonder if it's okay to have glass on a beach where many people walk barefoot...

This beach was originally a foul-smelling area due to the rampant growth of green algae. In 2016, Nagasaki Prefecture used recycled glass from waste to create this shallow area.

By laying down the recycled glass sand,

Clams settle and eat the plankton in the sea ➡ It has a purifying effect on seawater ➡ The water quality of Omura Bay improves

It seems this has led to significant positive effects on the surrounding environment ♡

The glass sand laid on the beach has its edges smoothed out, making it safe to touch ♩ (However, walking barefoot or swimming is prohibited)

The Glass Beach in Nagasaki Prefecture is made from recycled glass waste.

It is located near Morizono Park, just over the Minoshima Bridge that connects Minoshima, where Nagasaki Airport is located, and the city of Omura.

It is a place I definitely want to visit when I go to Nagasaki ♡
