Family Meet ♡
The first meet is a special moment when the bride, all dressed up, reveals her wedding dress to the groom for the first time.
This is the family version of that special moment ♡
Before the introduction of relatives, we call the parents, siblings, and grandparents to see the couple in their ceremonial attire, which we refer to as the "Family Meet."
It is often held in places like chapels, hallways of the venue, spacious areas, or larger rooms.
But during that time, what is everyone doing???
Things You Want to Do at the Family Meet (1) Photo Shooting
It's needless to say that photo shooting is important.
If you have specific requests regarding the flow and angles for capturing photos, be sure to communicate that to the photographer.
(Brides who wish to include footage from the Family Meet in the end roll shown at the reception should also make that request in advance.)
Here are some beautiful photos to introduce ♡
Hiding faces.
Tapping on the shoulder ♩
It’s also a great sight to see the couple waiting in the chapel.
Using the stairs to approach the parents.
The view from behind everyone.
Bringing a photo of grandparents who are in heaven is a touching gesture.
Things You Want to Do at the Family Meet (2) Reading Letters
Just like with the first meet, reading letters of gratitude to the parents during the Family Meet could become a wonderful moment.
While the "bride's letter" is usually the main focus at the reception, both the bride and groom prepare letters for the Family Meet.
Since it is a time exclusive to family, many seem to read letters addressed not only to the parents but also to siblings.
This is something that can be done freely during the Family Meet.
Additionally, while the letters at the reception are crafted following certain manners and rules to be heard by everyone, a more casual and deeper content could be appropriate when it’s just family.
Writing individual letters to father and mother would also likely be well received.
Things You Want to Do at the Family Meet (3) Giving Gifts
Many couples choose to give gifts during the Family Meet ♩
Such as old photos with messages...
Or memory albums that represent precious moments spent with family would be wonderful to give.
Old photos themselves can evoke sentimental feelings, so creating an album separately from the formal gifts to parents at the reception is a lovely idea.
