Louis Vuitton Confirms on Its Website! A Feature on Luxury Brands Not Present in Japanese Outlets
2021.12.12 published
What is the difference between brands that have outlets and those that don't?
Near the entrance of outlets or on the first floor, there are often high-end brand shops lined up.
✅Burberry
✅Tory Burch
✅FURLA
✅FENDI
✅Gucci
✅PRADA
✅Bottega Veneta
✅Bulgari
✅Dior
And many more.
When there are outlets, you can buy products at so-called outlet prices, which are cheaper than regular retail stores or directly operated stores. Additionally, you can visit them without feeling tense compared to stores located in prime areas like Ginza or Omotesando, offering unique advantages of outlets.
However, it’s obvious that not all brands are present in outlets.
For example, Louis Vuitton clearly states on its official website that it does not engage in outlet sales.
"Louis Vuitton does not offer discounts or sales. Louis Vuitton products are sold exclusively through official Louis Vuitton stores and client services, the official website, and authorized online partners such as 24S.com."
Indeed, if they provide discounts, outlet products may circulate, ultimately lowering the brand’s image and value, and counterfeit products posing as outlet goods could emerge; these scenarios can commonly occur.
Brands like Louis Vuitton adopt such policies to protect the brand and craftsmanship.
Recently, when I went to look at jewelry, a store representative told me, "We have a policy of not opening outlets," which I felt demonstrated their conviction.
But what other brands have chosen not to enter outlets?
I know a few brands that I’ve seen at outlets, but it might not be immediately clear which "luxury brands without outlets" there are...
I’ll introduce some well-known brands I can think of.
