About Decorative Paper ♡
The classic DIY for invitations is decorative paper.
It is used to attach a different patterned paper to the inside of the envelope when you open it, adding an accent.
In English, it is called an envelope liner.
Decorative Paper Illustrating the Venue!
I think decorative paper often features flower patterns, watercolor illustrations, or paintings,
but abroad, it is also common to use illustrations of the wedding venue as decorative paper.
Instead of a realistic photo, it is illustrated in a soft (colored pencil or watercolor-like) style as decorative paper. ♡
Here’s an example.

For guests, it’s nice to get a sense of the exterior of the wedding venue, even if just a little. (Especially if it's their first time visiting!)
On the day, they are likely to think, “I saw this in the invitation!” If I were a guest, I would definitely take a photo of the venue along with the decorative paper from the invitation. ♡
Decorative Paper Doesn't Have to Just Be the Venue *
It’s also great to use the scenery inside the chapel as decorative paper,
or the garden outside is lovely too! ♡
This idea of using an illustration of a favorite spot or view from the wedding venue as decorative paper is wonderful, so I highly recommend it! ♡
