Interesting Spots*

There is a place in Niigata Prefecture that I want to visit.

It is the Kiyotsu Gorge (Kiyotsu-kyo) in Tokamachi City, known as one of Japan's three major gorges.

This gorge stretches approximately 12.5 kilometers from Koide in Tokamachi City to Yuzawa Town, and it was designated as a national scenic spot and natural monument in 1941.

In places where the river flows rapidly, a steep V-shaped valley like this can form!

Kiyotsu Gorge is also famous for its "walking tunnel through the valley" for tourists.

It’s fun to proceed through it steadily.

This is the entrance to the 750-meter-long tunnel.

As you walk through the dimly lit tunnel, there are three observation points and a panoramic station at the far end.

This is the place where you can see the popular scenery on social media, just beyond the tunnel.

At this panoramic station, you can take beautiful photos with nature reflected on the water's surface♡

The Inside of the Tunnel is a Mirror*

The Kiyotsu Gorge tunnel is characterized by mirrored walls inside the tunnel. Nature is reflected, creating a mystical atmosphere.

Since the floor is covered with water, the reflections are also beautiful.

Depending on the weather, season, and time of day, the expressions it shows change. For example, on a sunny day, a beautifully bright blue river can be seen*

On a slightly cloudy day, it adopts a toned-down atmosphere.

In autumn, you can enjoy the reflection of the colorful leaves on the water surface*

You can walk all the way to the front, and the water level is only a few centimeters high, so it's fine to take off your shoes and dip your feet in.

The winter snow-covered scenery is also beautiful.

I Want to Take Location Photos♡

People are also taking location photos at Kiyotsu Gorge♡

The sterile tunnel, the majestic scenery beyond, and their dressed-up appearances reflected on the water surface.

A unique shot that you can't take anywhere else, capturing the beauty of Kiyotsu Gorge♡

I'm Envious of the Brides in Niigata...!

In other observation spots inside the Kiyotsu Gorge tunnel, there are also unique spaces like this.

This is a unique space filled with lights shaped like water droplets, created during the 2018 Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale art event*

It's a scenic spot in Niigata Prefecture that I want to see with my own eyes someday.
