An announcement about "Candy and Food Merchandise" from Disney has become news.

In other words, from December 14, 2021, all candy and food merchandise will only be available for purchase through the app.

Unfortunately, it has become impossible to purchase directly from stores within the park.

So when you visit Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea, you can no longer casually say, "Let's stop by the World Bazaar and buy some souvenir snacks to take home!"

Instead, you’ll need to open the app in the park and purchase the desired items via online shopping.

Additionally, there are some rules:

- Only applicable to park guests

- Limit of one item per person for each product

- Free shipping for purchases over 5,000 yen (including tax)

- Purchases can be made until 23:45 on the day of entry

The significant change in this system is said to be due to unexpected shortages.

After the state of emergency was lifted in October, restrictions on guest numbers were eased.

As a result, the number of guests coming to the parks increased, leading to a greater demand for bulk purchases of souvenirs, which seems to be part of the reason for this measure.

Some have speculated that it’s a countermeasure against reselling on flea market apps, but the truth is unclear.
