Live Wedding Painting ♡
Have you heard of the live wedding painting, which is currently trending at weddings in the United States?
Live wedding painting is a performance where a painter is invited to create a piece of art in real-time during the ceremony and reception on the wedding day ♡
The great thing about live wedding painting is that the painter can express a page of your life as a painting ♡
✅ In addition to photos and videos, you can "preserve" the wedding ceremony in a painting
✅ Moreover, having a professional come to paint on-site is an incredibly luxurious and special experience ♡ This has become very popular overseas*
The completed painting can not only be displayed at home but can also be printed as postcards to thank guests for attending the wedding.
It's a truly wonderful form of hospitality, isn't it?
Other Attractiveness ♡
Besides leaving memories, live wedding painting is full of charm.
✅ Since the painter is painting continuously in the venue, guests can enjoy watching the progress of the painting during conversations or mingling.
✅ As it is a new culture, even guests who are accustomed to weddings can find this performance refreshing.
✅ It can serve as entertainment.
✅ Finally, during the farewell scene, guests can see what kind of artwork has been created.
And so on ♡
Displaying it at home
✅ Unlike pictures, paintings can be displayed prominently in the living room without feeling embarrassed.
✅ It enhances the decor of the space.
✅ Live painting uses acrylic paints instead of oil paints, so it won't fade and requires no maintenance, allowing you to enjoy it for many years as part of your interior.
This is all very appealing.
After having children and grandchildren, a home that has "the painting from the couple's wedding" displayed seems like a symbol of happiness, and I long for that ♡
You can request this painter in Japan ♡
Live wedding painting is very popular in America, but it is still not widely known in Japan.
With the desire to spread live wedding painting at weddings in Japan, Tomoko Payton has started her work as a pioneer in this area.
She loves painting and has been working globally as a professional since attending high school in America.
She has continued to paint while working as a company employee. She even worked as a florist, making her a professional in both bridal work and flowers ♡
It is rare for a painter to be so knowledgeable about both art and weddings, and she is that unique person ♡
Here is Payton's artistic style ♡

This painting was created during a live wedding painting session at "Benoit" in Omotesando. The texture of the dress is beautifully expressed, which makes it enchanting.
Instead of painting guests based on a vague "image," she captures each individual accurately, so looking back, you can have conversations like, "Oh, this is when ◯◯-chan wore that dress and hairstyle!"

We got to see it in action!
We were curious and recently went to see a live wedding painting being conducted by Payton ♡
The wedding venue that day was THE SEASON'S in Yokohama, operated by Take and Give Needs.
Payton was present at the venue since morning, and since the order was to capture the ceremony in the painting, she was painting the chapel background before the bride and groom entered.
(Although there are currently no figures in the painting, she will add them later on ♡)
For live wedding paintings, you can choose between two patterns:
◆ Just the bride and groom
◆ Including guests
If you choose to include guests in the painting, you can specify the number during a pre-consultation. (The price may vary depending on the number of people.)
That day, the order was to paint the bride and groom plus all family and relatives, which totaled over 20 people!
The painting is created continuously from the beginning of the ceremony until the end of the reception, and Payton mentioned, "It's easier to paint because I can see everyone's faces directly, unlike photos." ♩
Indeed, it makes sense that painting from real, lively interactions like laughter and tears would create a much more beautiful piece of art. The significance of live painting is here as well ♡
During the mingling time, it was impressive to see guests come up to Payton to peek at the canvas ♡
Of course, Payton interacts with each guest with care and attentiveness ♡
After checking with the clients multiple times, here is the completed painting.
I was able to observe from the ceremony through the reception, and both the bride and groom and their families were captured so accurately, capturing their characteristics. It made me feel, "Wow! That scene I saw live!" ♡
I imagined how fun it would be to gather the family and reminisce together while looking at this.
It was a scene full of happiness, and tears naturally flowed.
According to Payton, she can also add guests who could not attend the day or those who are in heaven to the painting. It’s heartwarming to have those important people depicted as if they are celebrating by your side.
The painted artwork can also be turned into postcards or greeting cards ♡
Currently, there is a campaign offering 50 postcards (with customizable text) as a gift ♡
This can also be used for wedding announcement postcards or New Year cards ♡ Isn't that just wonderful?
We asked the bride and groom who had the live wedding painting done for their impressions ♡
============================
The first thing we thought when we learned about live wedding painting was that it was a highly stylish performance we had never seen at any wedding we've attended before, something very "overseas"!
Photos and videos that can be taken quickly with a phone are convenient, but having a moment of memory painted slowly and thoughtfully feels retro in a way and, conversely, fresh and lovely.
The time from the end of the wedding until the painting was completed allowed us to wonder what the painting would be like, and we were able to savor the enjoyment even after the wedding concluded.
The finished painting captured each individual's features and atmosphere, and it was extremely moving!
Unlike real photos, warmth of family and celebratory vibes are intricately detailed in the painting, and seeing it brings back memories of the wedding, filling us with warmth.
We will hang the finished painting in our living room and will likely remember and talk about that wonderful day for many years to come, even as our family grows.
We had the chance to experience something special that is not often accessible in the world of painting, and we found the goodness of art and had a wonderful experience.

Here are actual photos of the couple. When viewed this way, it's clear how closely the painting matches the vivid moments that were captured earlier ♡
