Regretful Kiss Shot
Let me share a story I recently heard from a friend.
Apparently, this friend had a pre-wedding photoshoot before their wedding.
They had their photoshoot in Marunouchi.
At the request of the couple, they took a kiss shot.
They had both a regular (or so-called) kiss shot and a kiss shot taken while they were both under the veil...!
According to them, "I really messed up! It's embarrassing! I want to delete the data!"
When I asked what happened,
they said, "I opened my mouth too much during the kiss shot."
It seemed that both of their mouths (the groom's and bride's) were slightly open, and from the side, it looked somewhat like they were inserting their tongues, making it look like they were having a deep kiss, which was kind of gross...
I also saw the photos, and indeed, depending on how you look at it, it could come across as somewhat erotic... They were beautiful, but could also be perceived as intense.
I asked if it captured their usual lovey-dovey vibes at home, and my friend replied,
"Maybe I was nervous and my mouth just opened. This looks so vulgar that I can't show it to anyone, I don't even want to see it myself. Just thinking that we were doing that in front of the photographer on the street is embarrassing, and we can't use it for the wedding, it’s just the worst...!”
“Besides, even in the photos where I kept my mouth closed, my husband's mouth was open! It's so gross!!”
That's what they said.
It must be difficult for the photographer to say, "Please don't stick your tongue out!" or "Please keep your mouth closed!"
There may be couples who want that kind of shot as well...!
(If it were me, I might be able to say something like, "Let’s try a version with closed mouths!" if I really pushed myself, but you never know until you're in that situation...)
How to Avoid Looking Like You're Having a Deep Kiss...
For brides who are about to have their kiss shot taken!
Unless you specifically want that kind of photo, try to consciously keep your mouth closed naturally.
⬇️ It might be a good idea to gently place your hands like this, or ask the photographer, "Please let me know if our mouths are open!"
