Special Feature on Women’s Protein: Easy to Drink and Continue - A Look at Protein and Its Basics for Bridal Beauty

Have you ever tried protein...?
For those who consistently work out, engage in exercise, or are trimming down their bodies, protein might be an obvious drink. However, for others, protein might seem unfamiliar.
"It’s something that muscular men, bodybuilders, and athletes consume."
"I feel like drinking it will make me super muscular."
"I don’t want to gain muscle, so it doesn’t relate to my average body type."
Such images may still be pretty strong.
However.
Currently, protein is gaining attention not just among those who want to build their bodies but also among individuals who are conscious about beauty and health.
There are now more female-oriented proteins that contain beauty ingredients and have pleasant flavors. (Recently, Yuko Sukiyama collaborated with CanCam to develop a protein too.*)
Among women who want to improve their beauty, protein is becoming a more accessible and casual option.
So, what exactly is protein? What is protein?
In simple terms, protein refers to "protein."
It’s no exaggeration to say that protein is one of the most crucial nutrients for building the body.
You've probably heard that 70% of the human body is made up of water, but did you know that the remaining 20% is protein? It forms skin, hair, muscles, and organs, while also regulating bodily functions such as hormones and immune antibodies.
(The next component is about 15% fat, followed by minerals and carbohydrates.)
The phrase "the human body is made of protein" emphasizes its importance for the healthy growth of children. (It has even been proven to influence brain development.)
If protein becomes insufficient, you might face consequences like these:
- Decreased muscle mass, leading to easy fatigue or potential injuries and illnesses.
- Skin and hair lose firmness and gloss, resulting in visible aging.
- As muscle mass decreases, basal metabolic rate slows, making it easier to gain weight.
Of course, it's not absolute that you have to continually supplement protein to maintain muscle, but in any case, protein plays a significant role in health, anti-aging, and dieting.
Instead of just spending money on beauty products or spas, or trying to starve oneself to lose weight, properly consuming adequate protein is truly the foundation for beauty and health.
The Meaning of Drinking Protein
Here, I will explain the significance of consuming protein, a nutritional supplement primarily composed of protein.♩
As you may know, protein can be obtained from foods such as meat, fish, eggs, milk, and cheese, so it is possible to get it from your regular meals.
However, meal prepping to meet the generally recommended protein intake can be quite challenging.
The target protein intake is 40g for women in their 20s to 30s and the recommended amount is 50g per day.
🐔 100g of chicken breast provides 25g
🥛 A cup of milk contains 6.8g
🥣 Yogurt has 4.3g
🥚 One egg offers 6.2g
As you can see.
This amount is typically met with ideal meals, such as those served in hospitals or school lunches, when eaten three times a day...
Still, many people skip breakfast (about 20% of women in their 20s skip breakfast according to statistics) or often skip lunch (eating things like spaghetti, for instance) in modern times, making it quite difficult to exceed the recommended daily amount!
(Especially since most aren't athletes or have personal trainers to guide them, and they can't be too strict with their diets...)
It's natural to feel that eating only boiled broccoli and plain chicken breast for the sake of protein, like what you see on social media, is rather dreary.
Therefore.
- To consume protein that you can't get from meals!
- To take in protein efficiently with low calories while keeping unnecessary fats to a minimum!
This is the main reason for women who wish to maintain beauty and health but can't quite commit to their meals to drink protein.***
Bridal Beauty as Well♡
For bridal beauty before a wedding, there are various methods such as visiting bridal aesthetics or getting procedures like HIFU, and taking supplements or dieting herbal remedies.
However, there are many brides incorporating "moderate exercise + drinking protein" into their routines.
The most effective way to consume protein is to divide it into these four timings.
1‣‣ With breakfast (to recharge fluids and nutrients as they decrease overnight)
2‣‣ Within 45 minutes after exercise (to repair muscles)
3‣‣ 30 minutes to 1 hour before bed (to align with the peak secretion of growth hormones during sleep, which helps relieve fatigue)
4‣‣ As a snack (when you crave sweets or can’t eat anything for an extended period)
Personally, I'm curious about "Do I absolutely need to exercise? If I do, how intense does it need to be?"
After all, for someone who doesn't have an exercise routine, it seems hard to commit to exercise just to start drinking protein...
Upon researching, I found out that it's okay to drink protein without exercising (in that case, it's recommended to drink it at breakfast and during snacks!)
However, drinking protein without exercising won’t lead to a toned body or weight loss; it's more about supplementing the lacking protein as mentioned earlier.
So, if your goal is to slim down for your wedding or achieve a beautiful physique, exercise is essential.
The type of exercise can be going to the gym, running, or doing yoga/stretching at home while watching YouTube.
However, low-intensity activities like stretching, which don’t burn many calories, might not lead to weight loss. It's best to carry out strength training or aerobic exercises within a sustainable range for both mental and physical benefits.*
Types of Protein*
Next, let’s talk about the types of protein.*
Protein is mainly divided into three categories.
① Whey Protein
(Characteristics) Made from milk. Low in calories and rich in nutrients. It’s water-soluble, so absorption is quick. It’s recommended to consume immediately after exercise.
② Casein Protein
(Characteristics) Also made from milk. It’s insoluble, so absorption is slower. It gradually provides protein. It’s recommended to consume before bedtime.
③ Soy Protein
(Characteristics) Made from soybeans. Absorption is slow. It's plant-based protein. It contains components called estrogens, which are thought to have beneficial effects on skin and hair, making it more suitable for women.
Knowing these three types might be useful when choosing products.
Each type offers different expected effects, so many people end up using a combination of several proteins as they become accustomed.
Additionally, even within the same type, different products may have varying components (such as vitamins) and differences in formulation (powder type vs. gel type) and flavor variation, so it’s vital to check the ingredient list.
Female beginners are often recommended to opt for "delicious flavors to start with" or "those containing beauty ingredients."
By the way, the classic ones often regarded as kings in the protein world are Cocoa flavor and Rich Chocolate flavor from SAVAS. Sweet flavors tend to be popular.
Now, let’s introduce some female protein options that are easy to try and available in Japan.*
