A Wedding Decided Together

Hello, I’m Yuki from marry. This year, I’ll be getting married at the one-year mark of living together with my partner.

It’s not that my partner proposed to me to decide on marriage,

we both

said,

“Now that we've been living together for a while, shall we get married!”

and we shared our positive feelings towards marriage,

“So, when should we register our marriage?”

“We should go buy the wedding rings so they arrive by then.”

“When is a good time to introduce ourselves to our parents?”

and we progressed these discussions concurrently.

A Proposal Without Surprises

Since we decided on marriage together, I didn’t expect a proposal from him...

However, after purchasing the ring, he said, “I’m sorry it’s not a surprise, but I’d like to propose with the ring I bought.”

Even though we both decided on the marriage together, it seemed he wanted to make an official (?) proposal. (I was really happy about that ♡)

However, he didn’t know what would make me happy since I have strong preferences... so he asked if I could tell him about a proposal that would make me happy.

Thinking About the Proposal Content from My Side

Is this kind of pattern quite rare...?

It’s different from the typical surprise proposal from a man to a woman, but in terms of being able to realize the scenarios and places I think are nice ♡, it might actually be the best.

There’s no surprise element, but I won’t end up saying, “This is different from what I expected!”

✅ He’s happy that he could fulfill my ideal proposal

✅ I’m happy to receive what I had wanted

So, I think this way of doing things is the happiest memory for us.

I Want to Go to a Restaurant and Stay Overnight!

It’s classic, but I want to have dinner at a restaurant within a hotel, receive the ring, and stay in a lovely room afterward.

I Want to Specify Even the Message Plate!

The timing for receiving the ring is definitely after the last dessert...

but I’m also planning to think of several options for the content of the message plate and specify that 🤣

Usually, “Will you marry me?” is the standard,

but since I already know he’ll propose, I think having a message plate expressing love would be a rare and cute idea👇

It’s quite rare to specify the message myself (there’s a bit of a self-performance vibe...?); however, perhaps letting him choose from the options will add an element of surprise for him on the day.

I Thought About a Reverse Surprise, but...

Conversely, I briefly considered calling the restaurant and preparing a message like “Thank you” or “Thank you for making me your wife” on the dessert plate for him...

But since it’s a proposal that he wanted to do, I thought it might not be right to lay a surprise on top of that and decided against it.

Instead, I plan to prepare a letter and an album at the end.

A Preview Surprise?

Although we decided to get married together, he said he wanted to propose! So I thought about what I want to be proposed to with.
