This brand's shoes are handcrafted by male designer RYO ASO (Ryo Aso) from design to production.

After graduating from the Cordwainers College (now known as the London College of Fashion) in London, UK, RYO worked for a women's shoe manufacturer for 10 years before establishing his own brand in 2011.

You can purchase RYO ASO shoes only through regular order events (which often take place in Nakameguro. Reservations are not required, and anyone can attend!).

There are no online sales; it's a different experience from the now-typical online shopping where sales happen only on-site.

Moreover, each ordered pair of shoes is handcrafted by RYO, so they take about 1 to 1.5 years to arrive... quite the opposite of fast fashion.
