I Got Proposed to on a Transparent Ferris Wheel ♡
Hello, this is Yuki from marry. The other day, my boyfriend proposed to me.
The proposal took place inside a transparent Ferris wheel! ♡
It’s a see-through gondola with transparent glass on the ceiling and the floor.
Have you ever been on a transparent Ferris wheel?
Since it’s almost entirely glass, it can be quite scary to look down at your feet once you’re high up...
But that’s what makes it fun! 🤣
During the proposal moment, we were sitting face to face in the gondola, and I was recording the video with my smartphone...
The transparent Ferris wheel is truly amazing! ♡
Check out this video.
You can see the sky, the view below, and the scenery outside clearly, which gives such a sense of liberation! ♡
Traditional Ferris wheels usually have strong colors like red, blue, or yellow, and with ceilings and floors, they can feel cramped and suffocating...
But being in a see-through gondola makes everything feel so open, almost like floating in mid-air, which is such a pleasant feeling~~ ♩
Plus, I was really happy that I could keep such a beautiful memory of the proposal video up in the sky! ♡
(This was filmed with an iPhone 11 at 0.5x!)
A proposal on a transparent Ferris wheel is truly wonderful! I’m completely satisfied! ♡
So I thought I would look up where in Japan there are transparent glass Ferris wheels.
I found out that there are actually many nearby places with these, but I had no idea there were so many...!
I hope this helps those who are looking for them! ♡
① Expo City in Suita, Osaka
This is where I received my proposal. It's the Osaka Wheel located at Expo City in Suita, Osaka.
Standing at 123 meters tall, it’s the tallest Ferris wheel in Japan.
(By the way, the tallest in the world is the 250m Ferris wheel called Ain Dubai in Dubai.)
The Osaka Wheel has 72 gondolas, all of which are transparent! ♡ It’s rare since usually only a few are see-through.
When seen from a distance, it’s not colorful but all-white, making it stylish.
One rotation takes 18 minutes, and the fee is 1,000 yen per person.
You can see the Tower of the Sun nearby.
② Cosmo Clock 21 in Yokohama
Located in Minato Mirai, Cosmo Clock 21 is a symbol of Yokohama.
Out of the 60 gondolas, only 4 are transparent. There’s a rarity to it being limited to a few gondolas! ♡
One rotation takes 15 minutes, and the fee is 900 yen per person.
The price doesn’t change, so if you wait in line for the transparent gondola, one will come by every 4 minutes.
③ Palette Town Ferris Wheel in Odaiba
Odaiba is also home to the famous Palette Town Ferris Wheel. (Many must have been there on dates.)
It will stop operations on August 31, 2022...
Out of a total of 64 gondolas, 4 are see-through versions. *
One rotation takes about 16 minutes, and the fee is 1,000 yen per person. The see-through gondolas come around every 4 minutes.
I want to ride it one last time! ♡
④ Arakawa Amusement Park in Arakawa, Tokyo
The only small municipal amusement park in the 23 wards, Arakawa Amusement Park.
It was renovated and reopened on April 21, 2022, and at this time, they added transparent gondolas.
With a total of 28 gondolas, it’s smaller compared to others, but the proportion of transparent ones is quite high, with 7.
The entrance fee is 800 yen, and to ride the Ferris wheel, you need 4 ride tickets at 100 yen each.
⑤ Nagoya Port Sea Train Land
Located in Nagoya, Aichi, Nagoya Port Sea Train Land is popular for location shoots.
The Ferris wheel here is among the largest in the Chubu region. Out of 48 gondolas, 2 are of the transparent type.
One rotation takes about 15 minutes, so the transparent gondolas come around every 7 minutes.
It’s great that even the seats are transparent! ♡
The fee is 700 yen per person.
⑥ Sunshine Sakae Ferris Wheel
Besides the Expo City in Osaka, all the gondolas here are transparent. It’s the Ferris wheel at Sunshine Sakae in Nagoya.
It’s interesting that it’s adjacent to a department store. It really feels like a Ferris wheel in the city.
One rotation takes 15 minutes, and the fee is 500 yen.
⑦ Tempozan Ferris Wheel in Osaka
Speaking of Osaka’s aquarium, it’s the Kaiyukan. Right near it is the Tempozan Ferris Wheel, a staple tourist and date spot in Osaka.
Out of 60 gondolas, 8 are transparent. The capacity is 8 people, so the gondolas are quite spacious and comfortable. *
One rotation takes 15 minutes, and a transparent gondola comes every 2 minutes.
The fee is 800 yen per person.
⑧ Rainbow Ferris Wheel at Mitsui Greenland in Kumamoto
The Rainbow Ferris Wheel at Kumamoto’s Mitsui Greenland, one of the largest amusement parks in Kyushu, also has transparent gondolas.
Out of 48 gondolas, 6 are transparent. It takes 15 minutes for one rotation, so they come around every 2.5 minutes.
Transparent Ferris Wheels are Fun! ♡
I’ve compiled a list of Ferris wheels with transparent gondolas across the country.
For those in Kanto, Yokohama’s Cosmo Clock 21, and for those in Kansai, it seems easy to visit Expo City or Tempozan.
I believe there are still many more transparent Ferris wheels that haven’t been discovered yet, so if you know any, please let me know! ♡
A proposal on a transparent Ferris wheel is truly wonderful, and I was able to keep such a beautiful video as a memory, so I highly recommend it! ♡
