Cave Weddings are Amazing!
This style is not familiar in Japan, but it seems that overseas, they actually hold weddings inside caves.
Caves are referred to as "cave" in English.
A wedding in a cave is called a "cave wedding."
It's incredible to actually hold a wedding ceremony inside a cave, rather than just doing a pre-shoot or photo wedding. It’s such a foreign idea, right?♡
I was surprised when I first saw it!
Caves have an image of being cool, wild places covered in raw nature.
Or, like the Blue Cave, they can be mysterious and beautiful, a "miraculous space created by nature" that is different from everyday life.
At first, I thought, "What! A wedding in a cave?! Are we dining here too?!" But when I look at cave weddings overseas, I see stylish party scenes unfolding.♡
I wondered if they are accepted similarly to weddings in gardens, forests, beaches, or campsites.
Scenes from Cave Weddings♡
Here’s what cave weddings actually look like👇 I’ll introduce a lot of examples!
(🤎)
Since it gets darker further in with less light, it's common to hang lights from the ceiling.
(🤎)
Large illuminated initial objects are also handy for brightening up the space.♡
(🤎)
The ability to arrange tables in all directions is unique to the extremely spacious cave space!
(🤎)
A smoke effect in the cave is also incredible.♡

Depending on the location of the cave, the outdoor scenery can also be dynamic!
It sounds fun to have a wedding overflowing with nature under such a cliff.
The ground can be rocky and dangerous, but a paved cave like this is reassuring.
(It seems that places where cave weddings can be held are usually managed by resort hotels or facilities, so many areas are paved.)
An open cave is nice, but a low-ceiling cave has a cave-like charm too.♡
This dark ambiance really feels like being in a cave.♡
Adding blue lights inside the cave seems to enhance the illumination effect.♡
Guests enter like this, I see..!

Now, I’ll specifically introduce places where you can actually hold cave weddings.
First, here.
This is a cave called Willowbrook Amphitheater in Colorado, USA.
When looking straight up, it’s open to the sky, giving it a bright atmosphere.♡
It’s spacious, so it seems you can invite a lot of people.
This is a restaurant in Samabe Bali Suites & Villas in Bali, Indonesia.
Since they can lavishly decorate with candles and flowers, even though it's a cave, you can have a romantic party space.♡
There’s also a cave restaurant in the resort RAYAVADEE in Thailand that allows for weddings.
There’s a Place in Japan Too!
When I looked for cave wedding venues in Japan, I found one in Utsunomiya, Tochigi♡
It’s a museum related to the Oya quarry, called Oya History Museum.
It seems they can hold ceremonies in a cave surrounded by Oya stone, 30 meters underground.*
The atmosphere is a bit different from caves by the sea or in mountains and forests, but the cool feeling of the stone is a feature.
This is a cave chapel where light streams in from the right front.
Cave Weddings are Wonderful♡
Cave weddings are not something we hear of often in Japan...
But a party held in an illuminated, raw natural setting seems fun, and I think it would be perfect for outdoor-loving couples.
I envy how easily cave weddings can be held overseas!
