There Are Quite a Few Brides Wearing Sandals!

Recent Trends in Bridal Shoes

One thing I’ve noticed that has changed from a few years ago is that I frequently see brides wearing sandals. ♡

Until now, bridal shoes typically consisted of glossy white patent leather shoes, glittery designs, or all-lace footwear.

However, in recent years, there has been a rise in choices like Maison Margiela's tabi design, ankle-high boots, black designs instead of white, and sandals...

I feel that there is a growing variety and freedom of choice for brides when it comes to selecting wedding shoes. ♡

Among these, I’d like to highlight sandals as bridal shoes.

"I've heard that it's bad to show your toes."

"While it's fine for a location photo shoot at the beach or in a park, isn't wearing them for the actual wedding a bit too casual...?"

These are some of the perceptions that might exist, but nowadays, it's perfectly fine to not worry about such preconceived notions.

Of course, if you're at an upscale hotel or a luxurious venue, it might be questionable whether sandals would match a traditional satin wedding dress.

For instance, at a restaurant, guest house, or a designer venue (like TRUNK HOTEL or Nanzan House in Nagoya, or The Garden Oriental Osaka!), wearing sandals fits right in without feeling out of place, and can even look cute with a somewhat unique coordination. ♡

So, what brands and designs of sandals are brides actually wearing?

In this article, I'm going to feature posts from brides who chose sandals as their bridal shoes on their wedding day.

Sandals Are Fashionable and Tempting to Try!

After some research, I found that many brides are choosing sandals as bridal shoes. ♡

I noticed some common design features among them:

- They usually have straps.

- The bands across the instep are often simple and slender.

For summer weddings, sandals offer a cool and airy look, allowing for cute visibility of foot nails from under the dress, and provide stylish coordinating options. Many brides likely feel that these would match their venue and dress perfectly.

So, be sure to find that perfect pair of sandals and step into your wedding day with fabulous feet!
