To all the rain men and rain women getting married nationwide ☀️
🤵🏻♂ "I've been a rain man for as long as I can remember, so I'm really worried about the weather on our wedding day..."
👰🏻♀ "Whenever we travel or go out, I always let my rain woman powers show on important days."
🤵🏻♂ "June, when we are getting married, is right in the middle of the rainy season..."
👰🏻♀ "We're scheduled to hold our ceremony during the typhoon season in September, so I hope it doesn't overlap."
There must be many rain men and rain women across the country who are anxious about the weather on their wedding day.
Since natural weather is something we can't control, all we can do is wish for a sunny day...
However, there was a wonderful bride who created a beautiful experience by enlisting the help of her guests to pray for good weather!
I thought it was an inspiring idea, so I wanted to introduce it through marry.
Collecting messages from guests to create teru teru bozu (a traditional Japanese rain-preventing doll) ♡
Yumeno (@ymn___wd), who held her wedding at the Tsurumi-no-Mori Geihinkan in Osaka.
Here's what the couple did to involve their guests to ensure good weather on the big day.
***************************************
They changed the message section of the RSVP postcards to say, "Please send us a message wishing for sunny weather on the wedding day."
Then, they cut and pasted the sunny weather messages from guests onto the teru teru bozu to display them at the venue ♡
***************************************
The result was a wall decoration completely covered in teru teru bozu.
It's super cute, and
with one teru teru bozu for each guest's message, it creates an impressive effect.
The fabric used was cut from clothes that they no longer wear for their DIY project. (It's eco-friendly to use unwanted clothing for wedding decor!)
It would be fun for guests to look for their own messages and see which teru teru bozu they are on!
According to Yumeno, "Our guests were really surprised, and even those who couldn't attend felt the love and thoughts from so many people as we celebrated our wedding day.𓂃🌿𓈒𓏸"
As for the weather on the big day...
The teru teru bozu worked wonders! ☀️☀️☀️
Using teru teru bozu in the celebration too ♡
During the reception, they gave a "teru teru bozu award" to guests who wrote particularly memorable messages, with a gift as a prize ♡
The prize was a colorful rainbow craft beer set, fitting for the weather theme! (Such a stylish idea!)
This could be a fun addition during dress color guessing games and trivia about the couple.
It should be a refreshing and exciting experience for guests too! ♡
An encouraging wish-making idea ☀️☁️☔️
For rain men and rain women, especially if you have outdoor events or garden-themed activities planned.
I completely understand the anxious feeling of, "What if the weather is bad on the day...? What should I do...?"
That's why I think this experience, which involves the power of guests to pray for sunny weather, is really wonderful and uplifting!
With everyone's strong prayers, a large and positive sunny weather power might just be created...?
The teru teru bozu decoration is also unique and adorable, so I definitely encourage rain men and rain women to give this a try.
