Wedding Certificate Created with Guests ♡
A wedding tree where guests can stamp leaves and flowers, or a wedding canvas where guests can draw lines with paint, the wedding certificate created with guests will be a memorable item, right?
There are various ideas, but I would like to introduce a method that I think hasn’t been adopted by anyone before.
Using 【Perfume】 for the Wedding Certificate ♡
The idea is,
to have guests create "perfume"!
It’s a unique performance where the bride and groom sprinkle the perfume made by guests onto the wedding certificate during the ceremony. This is a new concept for a performance, isn’t it? ♡
This idea comes from Sumire, who had her wedding at one of the three major western-style houses in Kamakura, the Koga Residence. (@smr_wd.61) ♡
At the end of the ceremony, they also prepared a set of scent strips and perfume bottles for guests to try the scent, allowing everyone to enjoy wondering what the created fragrance is like. ♩
After the wedding, Sumire uses the perfume slowly on important days. It's wonderful to have a scent associated with your wedding. They say scents stay in memory, and friends who meet Sumire wearing the perfume will likely remember the wedding!
Sumire, who created the perfume with the guests, mentioned that there are about 400,000 substances to choose from, and they also need to consider scent combinations and assign meanings that represent the bride and groom. It seemed very challenging to select! So, I asked how they chose the scents.
First, Sumire and her husband picked their favorite fragrances. Since they had a common scent (Mandarin), they decided to make it the main scent.
They combined Mandarin with various other scents and settled on three pleasant combinations (Rose, Neroli, Tonka Beans). They checked to see if the four scents layered well together.
Then comes the crucial part:
Since Sumire and her husband liked the scent of Mandarin, they wanted to make a perfume where Mandarin would be the main note. (They had also selected scents that complemented Mandarin when choosing the fragrances.)
They asked guests to select from four images of the couple: "Affectionate," "Cheerful," "Stylish," and "Foodie," and based on what guests would likely select, they thought "Cheerful" would be the most chosen word, so they decided on a cheerful scent with Mandarin.
As they had hoped, many people still considered Sumire and her husband to be cheerful, and they successfully created a perfume with Mandarin as the main scent!
While it might be okay to randomly select four favorite scents to create a perfume, it would be shocking if the combined scent turned out to be unpleasant. Ideally, they wanted it to be a scent they liked, so it seemed important to think about the final scent while assigning meanings to the fragrances. ♡
The perfume wedding certificate is an amazing and new idea!
Creating the wedding scent together is beautiful, and the fact that every time they wear the perfume in the future, it will evoke memories of the wedding is wonderful as well. Just like Sumire, it's nice to want to cherish and use it little by little.
Thank you, Sumire, for sharing your beautiful wedding certificate! ♡
