Discover Stylish Ideas for Paper Items ♡
I found some stylish ideas for handmade paper items, so let me introduce them.
𝙣𝙞𝙠𝙤 (@_miwedding_) who held her wedding at The Hillside Kobe made:
✔ Overhead photos,
✔ Layered with transparent OHP film,
✔ Clipped together.
It's a DIY project♡
I've seen layering tracing paper...
Up until now, I've seen ideas for layering translucent tracing paper for invitations, request cards, place cards, and menu cards...
But this kind of image!
However, I haven't really seen the idea of layering OHP film instead of tracing paper...?
How to make it?
OHP film is a transparent, thin, and bendable type of copy paper (a standard material for weddings, right?).
➡ Check out OHP film on Rakuten
Unlike acrylic, it can be printed on with a printer, so you can design text in your favorite font and print it out.
It seems that 𝙣𝙞𝙠𝙤 created a "save the date" card to enclose with the invitation.
(A save the date is for informing guests of the date of the wedding!)
【How to make it】
In Illustrator,
- Enter the names of the bride and groom,
- Enter the wedding date,
- Enter the venue name.
Create the data (you can also use Excel or Canva).
Then, print the created data on A4 OHP film and cut it with a cutter.
The black thin border around the film in 𝙣𝙞𝙠𝙤's design is stylish and adds an accent ♡
Finally, layer the printed OHP film over a postcard of the pre-wedding photo that has been printed out in the same size, and secure it with a gold clip to complete it ♡
(It might also be nice to bundle them with a grommet punch or something similar.)
Since it’s transparent, the text looks like it’s floating, which is incredibly stylish, don't you think...?
If you prepare multiple variations of the photos, it would be lovely that the guests receive different photos.
On the wedding day, when a guest pulls out the set of invitations they received, and says, “Hey, this is different from what I got...!?” it would spark a delightful conversation ♡
Brilliant Ideas ♡
I introduced the wonderful idea of layering OHP film over pre-wedding photo postcards.
While 𝙣𝙞𝙠𝙤 handmade her save the date card,
I thought this brilliant idea could be used for menu cards, thank you tags, main invitations, seating charts, escort cards, and any other paper items.
Please try to replicate this and challenge yourself to DIY.
