The person who created this sticky note is ORISU (@orisu___wd), who held their wedding at The Tender House in Shirokane in May 2022.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ORISU hadn't seen their local friends in a while, and they wanted to spend more time with those friends who traveled from afar for the wedding. So, they arranged a first meet time before the ceremony.
The specific schedule is as follows ⌚
- Gather local friends at 10:50
- First meet and photo session from 10:55 to 11:10
- Guest reception starts at 11:10
To have local friends gather before the reception starts, the waiting time before the ceremony gets longer, but they informed them in advance and received their agreement ♡
There isn't time to talk during the ceremony, and the reception has other guests, so you can't have a long conversation. While it's necessary to have guests come early, it's wonderful to share a special time before the ceremony ♡
In fact, ORISU said, "I'm glad we made time for the first meet since there wasn't time to talk at the reception!"*
A wonderful time to incorporate ♡
I introduced the idea of creating a first meet with friends before the ceremony ♡
It might be difficult if the ceremony is early in the morning as it could be burdensome for the guests (they might incur early morning charges for hair styling if they have to gather early...!)
However, if the ceremony isn't early in the morning, or if the friends you want to have a first meet with are guests from afar who plan to stay near the venue, this could be something to consider ♡
When guests are told "I want to see you soon, so please come early♡," they will likely become even more excited about the wedding 💌
