Pouring Art is Trending
In recent years, pouring art, an art experience that can be done at home or during workshops, has been gaining popularity.
Pouring art is the name for the art of pouring multiple colors of acrylic paint onto a single canvas to create marbled patterns.
It is also referred to as fluid art or dripping art, but they all refer to the same thing.
(By the way, "pouring" means to pour, and "fluid" means flowing. It has a similar meaning to dripping art.)
The most commonly used material in pouring art is acrylic paint.
The squiggly marbled patterns made by utilizing the versatility of the paint, along with its plump thickness and opacity, are its features.
What's currently trending is mostly like this, right?♡
Since it uses acrylic paint, it is sometimes called "acrylic fluid art."
On the other hand*
Alcohol ink art and resin fluid art, which do not use acrylic paint, are also included in the category of pouring art. (It’s the difference in materials used to pour.)
Alcohol ink art has also been popular in DIYs for weddings, so many brides may know about it.
It features designs that look like water puddles.
In other words, pouring art (or fluid art, dripping art) is an art form where you pour or drop a material and you cannot predict how it will turn out until the end.♡
Here are some actual photos of brides who prepared pouring art as wedding items.
①
Ai (n.bebelle0907), who had her wedding at Q.E.D.CLUB, created both her marriage certificate and a welcome board using pouring art.♡
Both are very stylish, with colors and patterns resembling a mystical lakeside… like agate jewels.
The couple made these at Art Bar Tokyo, a place where you can experience pouring art.
(They have stores in Daikanyama, Harajuku Cat Street, and Yokohama, and it's popular as a creative studio where you can enjoy art while drinking.)

Here’s a photo of them during the production.
The process involves slowly spreading the paint over the canvas... (This part feels like the essence of pouring art, doesn’t it?♡)
Additionally, because the paint is mixed with oil, when it is heated with a burner, circular bubble-like patterns called cells appear, allowing you to create bubbly designs to finish.
It dries in one to two days, and it’s complete.
Ai-san attached an acrylic board with magnets to the finished pouring art and wrote letters with white and gold Posca pens.♩
By sandwiching the acrylic board, it adds a smooth transparency that looks cute!♡
Since no letters are directly written on the pouring art, after the wedding, she can attach another acrylic board with different letters to create a different home interior!♡

Nana (n.7___wd), who had her wedding at Aferique Shirokan, created her pouring art at home to decorate the welcome board.
That's impressive!♡
She got the round canvas and paint at Flying Tiger.
The complex and exquisite colors and patterns resemble real marble or natural freshwater shells and are simply beautiful!♡
It's hard to believe this is DIY!
Here’s the overall coordination of the welcome space.
It perfectly matches candles, a marble vase, and stone-like coasters.
It looks great with the Byully bottle too!♡
Nana practiced pouring art many times, so if there are brides looking to gather materials and create at home, it might be good to try making a few smaller boards first before attempting on the final canvas!♡

Interested in Pouring Art♡
It seems like creating wedding items with pouring art will become even more popular!♡
Since you can adjust the colors yourself,
- You can match the colors to the flowers in your bouquet
- You can focus on greens to match the natural atmosphere of the venue
- You might try to go with a bluish hue for a summer wedding
It sounds fun to do DIY that is linked to the wedding’s coordination!♡
I also want to take inspiration from Ai-san’s idea of attaching the acrylic board and writing on it!♡
(That way, you can apply it to welcome boards, marriage certificates, love story boards, table numbers, menus, and more!♡)
Thank you for sharing such lovely photos!♡
