Coordinate a Simple Necklace with a Dress*
What kind of necklace will you wear with your dress?
Recently, the trend has been to show off one’s sense of style and preferences with hair, makeup, and earrings (or ear studs), while keeping the neck and décolletage area looking sleek.
In fact, most of the necklaces available at dress shops for weddings tend to have elaborate designs. (Wearing such pieces often makes the overall coordination feel too much.)
Therefore, it seems natural that there are fewer brides who wear necklaces at weddings...
But ***
Recently, I discovered a coordination that made me think, “I want to wear a necklace like this! It’s beautiful ♡.”
That is the idea of pairing a simple, everyday necklace with a dress ♡.
A single diamond necklace or
a one-motif pendant, for example!
I think it's lovely to wear a necklace that is not specifically for bridal use but is something you wear in your daily life at a wedding—it's subtle, cute, and nice ♡
However, there might be people who think, “I can’t really imagine pairing a regular necklace with a dress.”
Let me introduce some actual photos of brides♡
1
Risa (@tim_wd_) who got married at the Palace Hotel.
For the pre-wedding shoot and the wedding day, she wore a single diamond necklace ♡.
And for the color change, she paired the Open Heart with her colored dress ♡.
The Open Heart necklace was originally a gift from her father to her mother, and he loaned it to her saying, “You can match everything with Tiffany, so please use it in your wedding!”
It’s a lovely piece of something borrowed for something new ♡.
I introduced the coordination of brides wearing simple necklaces that are used in everyday life with their dresses.
It was wonderful to see that everyone was wearing meaningful and precious jewelry, like heirlooms from their grandmothers or engagement necklaces, or special gifts ♡.
When I told a future bride friend about this coordination, she mentioned, “I might wear the pendant I received from him on my first birthday together ♩,” and I thought that was wonderful too!
One day, after having children and grandchildren who reflect on their own wedding,
it would be dramatic if I could say, “Actually, I still wear this necklace from that time.” ♡
