I Don't Want to Miss Out on Growth

Children grow up so fast, don't they?

It's often said, and I think so myself, so I try to cherish every day and take lots of photos. Even so, I often think, "I wish I had tried this, I should have done that."

I have a 1-year and 2-month-old daughter, and in the last month, she has suddenly started walking and completely stopped crawling, so I regret not taking more videos of her crawling.

There's something else I think I should have done right after she was born!

That is, "taking a handprint with plaster."

You Can Preserve Your Child's Handprint in 3D

It's common to take a "handprint" when a baby is born, but did you know that you can preserve it three-dimensionally with plaster?

While you can't keep the small newborn form as it is... it would be wonderful to capture such tiny, adorable hands in three dimensions.

This photo shows a plaster handprint from two weeks old and one year old.

In just one year, her hands have become chubby and larger, and both forms are truly beloved ♡

Kits Are Available on Rakuten

You might feel that making handprints and footprints with plaster is a bit daunting... (it’s not as easy as a regular handprint).

However, there's a kit available for 1,650 yen on Rakuten, so the price barrier is actually quite low.

(There are various options available besides Rakuten, such as Tetrico and Memory Hands kits!)

The steps are:

① Combine the molding agent with water

② Place the hand or foot in it (for about 10 minutes)

③ Pour in the plaster material and wait for about an hour

④ Cut away the molding agent

That's it.

Since you need to wait about 10 minutes with the hand or foot in the mixture, it's recommended to do this when the baby is asleep.

I Want to Preserve Her Cute Form in 3D ♡

Ideas for preserving handprints and footprints in three-dimensional plaster.

I also think, "I wish I had done this while she was still a newborn!" So if you're expecting a baby soon, I definitely encourage you to try it ♡

Brands like Astier are also releasing hand motif decor, which I think can be stylishly displayed at home ♩

(It might also be nice to arrange it as an incense holder or something similar...♡)
