Travertine Table Numbers 🤎🤍
Discovered a wonderful material for table numbers at overseas weddings!
Using natural limestone called Travertine for the design 🤎🤍
Travertine is a type of limestone with small holes and a striped pattern, mainly in light beige color.
It is a natural stone material formed and deposited by the precipitation of limestone (calcium carbonate) dissolved in hot springs, mineral springs, and groundwater.
In the stone industry, it is categorized as a type of marble and is a staple material in the world of architecture and interior design.
(↓) Once you think about it, doesn’t this texture of floors or walls feel familiar? 👀
While I hadn't heard much about the name Travertine, the material itself is surprisingly familiar 🤎🤍
How are the letters added?
Table numbers made from Travertine, which is also a type of marble.
Since it is different from materials like paper or acrylic, how are the letters added?
Example 1
Hand-drawn calligraphy with a black marker.
(Could I possibly do that myself?)
Example 2
Carving the surface of the Travertine into the shape of numbers and embedding gold brass into the carved area.*
Example 3
Attaching acrylic letter objects cut with a laser, onto the surface.*
The Natural Stone Adds a Luxurious Feel 🔮
Travertine table numbers bring a sense of weight and luxury unique to natural stone, enhancing the tabletop with a stylish and classic atmosphere.
There are varieties like reddish-brown Travertine, but mainly light beige colors make it easy to coordinate without being too rough, creating a soft impression 🤎🤍
Perfect to pair with candles, muted colors, or earth-toned accessories.
It also matches beautifully with white-based floral arrangements 🤍
Adds a high-grade feeling as well✨
Though this isn’t a table number,
if you can find a larger Travertine slab, using it for a welcome board or some kind of sign would be stylish.
A Great Supporting Element!
Travertine stones can create an atmosphere just by being placed there, even if not used as table numbers.
You can stack several pieces to use as a base✨
Or display them standing in the back✨
They are also convenient as supporting elements!
Interested in Travertine 🤎🤍
I introduced the stylish stone material Travertine found at an overseas wedding.
Using natural stone for table numbers isn't something I've seen much in Japan...
But if I could arrange this, it seems I could create a beautifully stylish, sophisticated, foreign-feeling coordination, broadening dreams!
I found a square tray-like Travertine item available on Rakuten for 1650 yen, surprisingly affordable.
For irregular and random shapes that would work well as table numbers, it might be a good idea to consult overseas stores like Etsy or stone companies that carry them.
