Use Papier d'Armenie as Place Cards!

I found an idea to use the paper incense "Papier d'Armenie" as place cards for weddings, so I’d like to share it ♡

It seems the names of the guests and a QR code (which shows a message for the guests when scanned) were written on the back side of the Papier d'Armenie (the side without text)!

While each piece of Papier d'Armenie is small, about the size of a sticky note, the inclusion of a QR code allows for a message to be added.

The place cards were made by Ms. Manami, who held her wedding at Omotesando Terrace.

She created them with the intention that “I want guests to feel free to throw them away!” The idea allows them to be used as incense instead of just being discarded. How amazing...!

How to Make Papier d'Armenie Place Cards

◇ Steps to Create

① Create a message page on a website (It can be done easily for free on a site called STUDIO!)

② Convert the URL of the created message page into a QR code.

③ Insert the QR code into the place card design (it was created using Canva).

④ Print the designed place cards.

When printing, you should make a cut on the A4 paper and insert the Papier d'Armenie before printing.

(It’s advisable to print once on the A4 paper to check where the print will appear before identifying the insertion point to minimize mistakes.)

An Amazing Idea!

I introduced the idea of using the burnable paper incense "Papier d'Armenie" as place cards ♡

Indeed, place cards are often hard to throw away. When received, they bring joy, and many people keep them. However, after a few years, they might feel burdened about what to do with them, thinking "I can't throw this away... what should I do...".

If it's paper incense, then when the bride and groom say, “This place card is incense, so when you get home, burn it and utilize it as incense!” guests can feel free to discard (or burn) it from their perspective, which is a nice touch.

(The message from the bride and groom can be saved via the QR code link, allowing guests to revisit it at any time, so there is no issue with that ♡)
