Placing Favors on Guests' Plates 🍽️
Recently, I want to introduce a wedding idea that I found lovely and fresh!
The idea is to place the wedding favors on the guests' plates (decorative plates that are already set on the guests' tables) as if it were a one-plate dish! ♡
Normally at weddings, favors are put into favor bags. Guests will only see them when they get home, so you can't gauge their reactions.
However, if you place them at the guests' seats, they will pick them up as soon as they sit down, so you can witness their reactions on the day itself! ♡
During the chatting time, you can explain the points behind your selection of the favors or enjoy seeing the happy faces of your guests! ♡
By carefully selecting items for the guest tables, it creates a festive atmosphere! *
Here are experiences from brides who actually placed favors on plates and what the contents of those favors were! ♡
Bride Who Incorporated Favor Plates into Wedding Performance ①
Since it was a small, budgeted wedding, the couple wanted to give gifts that conveyed feelings rather than traditional gifts based on atmosphere or price.
For the female guests of the bride, there were nail polishes and colored mascaras (colors selected to match the guests).
For the male guests of the bride, room fragrance sprays.
For the male guests of the groom, tea (with colors and flavors of the cans selected to match the guests).
While it was challenging to keep the price of gifts similar while varying the content for each person, they said the time spent selecting while thinking of their important guests was very rewarding! ♡
(Interestingly, there were no female guests on the groom's side.)
Bride Who Incorporated Favor Plates into Wedding Performance ②
This bride selected items that would make guests' eyes light up as gifts rather than traditional favors.
For female guests, cosmetics and hair oils.
For male guests, hand creams and hand washes.
Additionally,
✅ Socks (since it was the Christmas season)
✅ Traditional sweets (Lulumerie's chocolate sable)
✅ Postcards as place cards
✅ Favor tote bags
✅ Invitation cards
were placed as well! ♡
By the way, the postcards used as place cards were designed like karuta (a Japanese card game).
They prepared the reading cards at the reception, and the guests sat at the seats corresponding to the illustrated postcards! (The guests' names were written on the back of the illustrated postcards.)
It's such a fresh and stylish idea! 😲🎄🧦
Incidentally, there is a story about avoiding giving socks as a gift for seniors due to the character "下" (which means "below") being considered inauspicious, but in this case, based on the situation and concept, they decided that traditional manners were not necessary.
(I personally believe that if you have something you want to do, you can ignore such customs.)
Giving Gifts with Drip Bag Coffee ♡
The idea of placing wedding gifts on decorative plates is wonderful! *
Actually, at marry, we offer a dripped bag coffee seat card with a QR code for selectable gifts called "hikica"...
How about placing this drip bag coffee seat card on the show plate as part of the favor plate...?
Guests can quickly order during the breaks at the reception, so you might hear, "I just ordered this favor!" during the reception! ♡
Since the design is cute on the decorative plate, if you're thinking, "I want to try the favor plate but also want to keep the catalog gift option," please consider incorporating this idea! *
(By the way, many venues do not charge for bringing in favors since it's considered a place card.)
