The Kaage Rock on the cliff is also famous as a beautiful spot.
Mount Oishi is popular among brides in Kansai, as it's easily accessible in around 2 hours from both Osaka and Kyoto, and offers wonderful photography opportunities.
Let me introduce some beautiful wedding photos taken at Mount Oishi! ♡
Wedding Photos Taken at Mount Oishi ♡
The size of Mount Oishi is about the same as 3 Tokyo Domes. The vast highland is covered in pampas grass.
There are three parking lots: the first parking lot, the second parking lot, and the Aridagawa Town parking lot, all of which are free of charge.
There are stairs from the parking lot to the highland, and the ground can be quite uneven, so it’s recommended to wear sneakers instead of heels.
You can see the Kisen Mountain Range from Mount Oishi.
The panoramic view of the mountains from the open space looks very refreshing! ♡
You can stretch your arms wide towards the horizon,
Sit among the pampas grass for a photo,
Or take pictures with the pampas grass as your backdrop, capturing wedding photos surrounded by nature! ♡
Wedding Photos with Golden Pampas Grass 🌾
The most popular time at Mount Oishi is during the pampas grass season.
From mid-September to mid-November.
In mid-September, you can enjoy pampas grass in various colors such as red and yellow, and by late September to October, the entire area turns a beautiful silver.
In November, the seeds of the pampas grass disperse, creating a stunning sight as they sparkle and reflect the light! ♡
The best times for pampas grass are not during the day but in the morning or evening.
Mount Oishi is one of the few places where you can see both the sunrise and sunset, and it has been selected as one of the Best 100 Sunrises and Sunsets in Wakayama Prefecture. *
You can capture autumn-like, calm, chic, and beautiful wedding photos! *
Kaage Rock on the Cliff 🪨
Mount Oishi is also home to a rock known as Kaage Rock.
Sitting on Kaage Rock for a wedding photo creates a dynamic shot! ♡
It is said that it’s not as high as it looks in photos (the rock juts out, and right below is the highland. If you fall, it wouldn’t be a straight drop to the bottom of the cliff, but it is still high enough to cause injury).
Because of the instability of the ground, especially in a wedding dress, please be careful while taking photographs! *
Standing at the tip of Kaage Rock also makes for a lovely shot! ♡
The atmosphere of the mountains changes depending on the season and time, even when viewed from the same angle.
The blue sky, sunrise, and sunset all have their own charm! ♡
During the pampas grass peak season from September to November, Kaage Rock can get quite crowded during sunset, making it common to wait in line to take photos.
If you want to take wedding photos on a day when there are fewer people, it is recommended to avoid the pampas grass season (from December to August) or to shoot during the day instead of at sunset.
A bride who had a wedding photoshoot during the summer went early in the morning due to concerns about the sunlight, and there were only two or three groups of people at that time! *

It's a perfect place for wedding photo shoots! ♡
One important point to note is that bringing in plants is not allowed. All plants, including dried flowers, are prohibited, and only artificial flowers are permitted for bouquets.
This rule is in place to preserve the beautiful nature of Mount Oishi, as introduced plants can disrupt the growth of pampas grass.
It’s something to keep in mind when planning your shoot.
