I found a very lovely wedding performance that I would like to introduce.

It’s called the [Family Ties Ceremony].

In this performance, the groom and bride shake hands with both sets of parents, creating a sense of family connection.

For one's own parents, it conveys a feeling of gratitude, saying thank you for everything.

For the other parents, it conveys a feeling of a respectful request for the future.

This performance takes place at the Palace Hotel Tokyo, and of course, it can be incorporated or not based on the wishes of the bride and groom.

While it may not be included in the standard flow at other venues, it is not a large-scale performance, so it seems possible to request its inclusion.

(There have been some who have included the handshake or bond ceremony as an original performance in the past＊)

What is the flow of the Family Ties Ceremony?

The Family Ties Ceremony with handshakes between parents takes place in the latter half of the wedding ceremony at the Palace Hotel.

Specifically, the flow is as follows:

① Groom's entrance

② Bride's entrance / Veil down

③ Hymn

④ Kiss of vow

⑤ Ring exchange

⑥ Signing the marriage certificate

⑦ Family Ties Ceremony

⑧ Exit

During the Family Ties Ceremony,

First, the groom's parents step forward, and there are four handshakes: between the groom and his father, the groom and the bride’s father, the bride and groom's father, and the bride and groom's mother.

After the groom's family ties ceremony is completed, the groom's parents are seated, and the bride's parents step forward.

Another four handshakes occur: between the bride and her father, the bride and her mother, the groom and the bride's father, and the groom and the bride's mother.

Once all eight handshakes are completed, the bride's parents are seated, and the Family Ties Ceremony ends.
