Summer is Just Around the Corner*
With the increase in hot days, we can really feel summer coming! It would be nice to have things that look cool, right?♡
Seasonal Japanese Sweets for Wedding Favors*
There are many beautifully designed seasonal Japanese sweets! I’ll introduce some cute and delicious wagashi that will make you feel cool just by looking at them, perfect for wedding gifts♡
*During the Tanabata Season*
There are various summer wagashi inspired by Tanabata available from different wagashi shops, and they are incredibly cute!
First up is “Amanogawa” from Shichijo Kanshundo. Its appearance is like a real Milky Way encased in yokan, which is lovely!*
→ Check out Shichijo Kanshundo's website here♡
The second wagashi I want to introduce is “Hoshinohashi,” a limited-time offering from Toyoshimaya, famous for its pigeon-shaped cookies! The fact that it's packaged in bamboo is also adorable♡

Finally, I’ll introduce “Hoshizuku no Yoru” from Kameya Kiyonaga. This wagashi, shaped like a starry sky, is too cute to eat!*

*Goldfish Motif*
Goldfish scooping is a common sight at summer festivals. Goldfish evoke the feeling of summer, don’t they?♡ Let me introduce some goldfish-themed wagashi!*
This one is “Kingyo-bachi” from Kourakuya in Kyoto. It’s as adorable as its name suggests!
Shichijo Kanshundo, which sells “Amanogawa,” also makes goldfish-themed wagashi. The “Kingyo” inspired by the traditional Japanese craft, Rinpa, has a lovely touch of gold dust sprinkled on it!*
*Other Cute Summer Wagashi*
Besides Tanabata and goldfish, there are many cute wagashi out there!♡ This is “Natsu no Sasara-gata” from Ryoguchiya Korekiyo.
In addition to the regular sasara-gata, two limited-time flavors have been released until the end of August: “Nishikigatou Lemon” flavored with lemon and “Nishikigatou Hakutou” flavored with peach!♡ The packaging is so cute; it would make a great gift!

The famous Kanazawa delicacy “Wari-gori” from Wagashi Murakami evokes a pleasant sense of coolness just from its name!♡
Made using a traditional method that takes six days to dry the agar, it has a crispy exterior and a moist interior!♡ Each piece of “Wari-gori” is crafted by artisans, giving it a unique charm.*

The “Uchiwa Senbei,” designed to look like a traditional fan, is made by Kaga Shikishi in Kanazawa!♡
